That's good to know. I was hoping he would so he'd stop messing around with the UDB and the Urban Expansion Areas in what seems like every other item he sponsors on the BCC.
Juan Zapata is coming in to his own on the Commission. His recent power play showed some real cojones. Rather than moving on, it would be better if he stayed on the Commission and became an impact player.
Commissioner Zapata refused to vote to approve all five county budgets in September 2013, (library, fire, UMSA, Countywide, and debt service) because it seems that the Gimenez administration had convoluted the process to such an extreme that the budgets were probably violating state law. That was the turning point in my opinion of him. He skyrocketed up in my opinion.

I don't know if this is good news or bad!

I wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

Juan Zapata tries, sometimes. Many politicians envy the $165,000 per year, plus benefits, package given to the Property Appraisor.
Still reserving judgement on Commissioner Z.
