The problem is that there is essentially no difference between say the plebeian's desire for cars that are like living rooms on wheels and the industrialist's desire for more timber, oil, ore, market share, etc. The premise is exactly the same: I must have more than I did before! And I don't see many of us turning back until it is too late. We have seen the grass on the other side of the fence, but we don't know that it's spray painted.
