Can a candidate continue to say the Absentee Ballot Fraud done on their behalf "is not my fault"? By Geniusofdespair

James Brady (the accused) and "Know Nothing" Mark Bell (Miami Herald photo)
Mark Bell, Lynda Bell's husband, who ran for Mayor of Homestead was quoted in the Miami Herald today about the alleged absentee ballot fraud done by his campaign worker:
"We've done nothing wrong, so they can look innto it if they want...I have nothing to hide."
I believe him that he has nothing to hide, because I think that candidates choose not to know when illegal activity is going on. He does have James Brady on his financial disclosure. Candidates look the other way when their sleazy campaign managers engineer absentee ballot collection, knowing full well what is going on. Lynda Bell won on absentee ballots. No surprise there, same campaign manager, Jose Luis Castillo. BTW
Jose Luis Castillo
Mark Bell, it appears unethical to me to reimburse your OWN restaurant for all those campaign events. I guess this is what we can expect for the Lynda Bell campaign as it swings into gear. Don't bother asking Ethics anyone...they won't find a problem with ANYTHING.

Lynda Bell was sweating bullets when Eugene Flinn's campaign went to the elections office to examine absentee ballots. I went along, that is where I  found an UNSIGNED ballot counted and obvious signs of a wife signing for a husband or visa versa (same signature). It is all a joke. We weren't allowed to touch the envelopes with the signature so it makes it cost prohibitive for most candidates to look at them. I would have liked to have looked for another couple of hours at least.  One problem, they won't let you look at the computer to compare signatures on the envelopes to the voter's signature. That ties your hands in uncovering fraud. The election department must make phone calls randomly to absentee ballot voters to see if they got "help" or someone collected their ballot. I will volunteer to do it for free.

I believe that the boletero activity of Deisy Cabrera and Sergio Robaina should not just get them in trouble only, there should be repercussions for the candidates as well.

The whole system of absentee ballots sucks. Campaigns should not be allowed to get notices when the ballots arrive and they should not get lists of absentee ballot voters.

Miami Herald image of Robkevia Scott Whistleblower,
The original story involved the family of Robkevia Scott who reported the fraud perpetrated on her family. The men  (Brady is accused of being one) from the Bell campaign even took the  ballots of the rest of the family. That in itself is against the law. But they also filled out the ballots, compounding the wrong done.

This guy Brady is a joke on all fronts. He should already be in jail from what's been reported.

Bad things happen when good people are afraid to speak out !!

Bell's campaign is going to have to spend a lot of money at the Hotel Redland to keep it afloat. Being that the Council in Homestead has the final say on the CRA funding, I'd have any council person recommended for the Baker Act if they approved one more dime for the "Bells" I mean their Hotel, I mean the hotel with Lobos as the registered agent and Mark Bell as the owner. I find the pic you posted last week of Grestas and Bell interesting. At least we know he is in a position having to be loyal to Porter & Bell. I guess they forget which side they're supposed to be on.

Brady is running for Florida City Council, again. He should be in jail before then. No one in that City is afraid of him or the Bells, thank goodness.

JC Planas was the attorney for Flinn investing the AB ballots. He's was doing work for Mark Bell and probably will work for Lynda Bell or whatever campaign needs a hired paper pusher like him. He did a lousy job for Flinn who should have won if it was a fair election, which it wasn't. Now Bell has $1 million of our tax dollars to campaign with. She's going to be employing a lot of people who otherwise couldn't find decent paying jobs, so I guess that's the upside of the "job creation"!

You're question is interesting. What type of legislation would you propose? It would be difficult to prove they "knew" which is why they turn a blind eye.

Put Jose Luis Castillo on the stand.

JC Planas really was an odd choice to review the commission race. His entire business is based on shoring up the republican candidates... There was no way to trust a man who needed lynda and her buddies.

Your question is interesting. The answer is, "of course they can!" After all, doesn't our President keep saying he didn't know about the "glitches" in the ACA? Doesn't Hilary keep saying she didn't know about Benghazi?

Let them go Joe:

Doesn't Mark Bell have to declare his functions at his hotel as in kind contributions. I think it is unethical. But you probably don't.

Last anon, that would be the elections department, not Let em go Joe. Interesting. I think his report should be "in kind" but he'll use the "company" not personal as cover on the reimbursement or actually taking campaign funds to keep his restaurant going. How much is Wendy getting paid to run that PAC? Inquiring minds. These Bell people are so sleazy I need to take a shower after reading about them!

Not really. An Independent (now, formerly Democrat) old lady whose husband fought in Viet Nam who would like to see our country return to a bit of sanity.

Not an old lady at Vietnam times

I'm 68.

68 is just middle age. Women live much longer than men. So get busy.

Someone Hire Joe Carillo and put an end to this Absentee Ballot Shit once and for all. He did it in Hialeah, Proved it in North Miami Beach and he should have been retained in Homestead. Katherine Fernandez Rundle continues to turn a blind eye because it will all lead right back to her.

There Anon above:

My brother died from Agent Orange contacted in Viet Nam. It was a horrible death preceded by miserable suffering. I am 78 and I still suffer from his death. My only brother among five girls.

From the way you sound, you seem to have no idea what the Viet Nam war was about and how the families of those who fought suffered.

Why don't you get busy? At least try to learn something before you open your mouth.

Have some respect for those who helped to keep this country together.

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry for your loss. I work with Veterans and I know your sadness.

However, I do not think that there a slam at veterans there, just someone trying to put the idea out there that she was not a democrat any longer (because of the current politics, she was no party) and that she was the wife of a veteran, who now sees the world differently.

Anon above: Please, don't tell me how to analyze what somebody says. My brother suffered, my family suffered as did families of Viet Nam fighters everywhere. To have your own country turn against you because you did what you were required to do, wrong or right was shameful.

That was not a pleasant time in American history. In fact, it was downright reprehensible how our families were treated when their loved ones came home.

When I went to pick up my brother at the Oakland, California docks, I watched as soldiers coming off the ship got down on their knees and literally put their lips to the ground. And I bawled. Then I took my brother home to my house in Sacramento where he told me everything he went through and what he saw.

So, be very careful what you or anyone else says about Viet Nam and the people who fought there.

Nothing brings up my hackles more than negative talk about a war that because a large number of people did not support, soldiers were spat upon and disgraced by Americans here at home. Just the hint of negativity brings back painful memories, but you would not know unless you experienced it.

So, please just leave it alone.

How did this turn into a blog about Viet Nam stay on topic.

Anonymous said...

You want to how it started? It became a topic because two people posted insulting responses to the wife of a Viet Nam vet who dared to write what they considered the wrong thing on the blog.

That is how it happened.

Touch the family member of a Viet Nam vet in any manor shape or form and you touch me where it hurts.

Do you have anyone else to pick on besides. Lynda Bell?

If all politicians were like her, we will be living in Heaven.
