Two Opposing Groups Have Surfaced in Homestead Mayoral Race. By Geniusofdespair

"Concerned Homestead Citizens" is sending out ANTI Mayor Steve Bateman articles to an email list. They say they are on Campbell Drive. Another group started a Blog that is PRO Steve Bateman, it is called Good Morning Homestead.  Their first post was called "Yellow Journalism", it trashes the Miami Herald coverage of Bateman. I just hope the email delivery for the anti-Batemen group is not using Lynda Bell's email list for the good of her husband, Mark Bell who is running in the Mayoral race.

Do Homestead residents even use the internet? I doubt it. I don't think most citizens in Homestead have a lick of interest on who they elect, judging by...who they elect. The Mayors of Homestead, over the years, have been a sorry-ass group.

This "Concerned Homestead Citizens" which I checked is not a registered PAC or ECO and just states zip code 33033 somewhere on Campbell Drive. Come on people, whichever camp you're in, at least let us know where & who you are to at least keep the propaganda somewhat believable/reliable.

The spinning is just beginning in Homestead and it's going to be very fun to watch how Lynda Bell plays in to this without an ethics violation down the road somewhere because it appears there are too many zealots (both sides) out there and I know someone will cross the line somewhere. A hidden ISP in today's world is only as good as who's hiding it for someone. Just watch the Guardian interviews to see how easy it is to track!

The irony is while Bell & Bateman fight, Porter (Sincore's son in law) could end up wining this contest. This will bring Shiver running the show with Porter as his puppet.

Get me a barf bag now and I thank God each day I don't live in Homestead!

Look, Bateman and Bell are cut from the same piece of cloth. Wouldn't surprise me an iota if this is all staged, through the behind-the-scenes money like Rosen and Latterner. Money doesn't care who is in office, so long as who is in office is controlled by money.

Heard Porter and Shiver are no longer friends.

Good Morning Homestead states they admire Steve Bateman and Ernesto Perez. Take this admiration a step further, Bateman was investigated for a sex assault and Perez actually plead no contest to one. Those facts are not in dispute so there really is a lot in common although zero to admire.
Good Morning Homestead has no credibility, the same lack of credibility and unfulfilled promise by it's founder the hack running the Seminole Theater restoration.

Carl Hiaassen wouldn't even need to invent these characters. Just, read EOM.

I think whoever can stay on a real live bucking Bronco should be deemed the Mayor of Homestead! This stuff is so crazy down there. I can't believe the even crazier BCC crowned the wannabe rodeo queen herself the vice chair!

Last anon, Hiaasen could do a book about which is worse - Hialeah or Homestead politics. Take your pick! The characters never end in either scenario and usually the lowest on the totem poll is the one ending up in jail.

Wait, we have a third rail of crazy elections - North Miami. Burns just filed a lawsuit according to the Herald and anyone else remember the Celestine crap from the 90's?

A merry go round in a carnival of fools.

The local businesses in Homestead love Steve Bateman. When Mr. Bateman became our mayor he helped us gain customers by allowing our stores to put signs in the windows and sidewalks. When Lynda Bell was mayor we were given citations for this. These are tough times for us. Yard sales citations were given out on Saturdays. So many people moved to unincorporate or bunched yard sales as one. Again, people are just trying to survive. Steve understands being a human. Lynda Bell has turned the county upside down now she wants to run Homestead backwards again. We are trying to move forwards as best we can. Now she wants to be mayor again by electing Senor Bell. The Bells need to leave us alone!

Really, so why were the downtown business folks complaining about the broken promise of city hall at the last meeting?

Why did Bateman attack a business owner?

Why was Bateman called uncivilized by the next speaker, a multiple business owner?

Why are the Abbos/Portofino writing about signs on the EOM blog, you already got your sign money from Bateman, $113,000 worth in a waiver from the Mayor? Which resulted in another Rundle photo op for the Mayor.

Take a look.

I got a Bell e-mail and I live 350 miles away! When I read it, my immediate reaction was that he jumped out first with the negative campaign. I have lived in deep South Dade but never in Homestead. Wonder where he got his e-mail list.

Bateman is a negative campaign. Please just look for his name and Homestead.

M. Bell will do whatever it takes to revitalize Downtown Homestead. Redinn, I mean the Redland Hotel, is only a cow chip's throw away.

The Bells are crooks like many politicians. If Homestead elects Mark Bell, you can bet it is puppet act! And who do think is pulling the strings??? Get real people! Look at the stats... See who's done better for the City! I could start naming the pros and cons, but will refrain at this time. Anyone know who Mark Bell is going to get funds from???????
