Genting Casino's Comes Up With A Day Trip Hard to Beat. By Geniusofdespair

I have never been to Bimini. If there is anything to do there, besides gamble, I would be tempted to take this trip that was advertised in a full-page ad in the Miami Herald. $49 for a day cruise including brunch and dinner seems like a good deal, that is, if you don't hit the casino. I would do the trip and maybe even spend $5 gambling. There is a a little star, however, you get socked with additional port fees and taxes of $20 per person. The 2 hour cruise they promised is actually 2 1/2 hours according to the ad. Anyway, Genting will be a household name in Miami soon, not just in Malaysia. Still don't think they are going to get gamblers to Bimini -- the boat leaves before noon. They might get people like me out for a joy ride. The night cruise is even a better deal if you don't mind staying up all night -- $49 for a couple, unless you are a gay couple (only ladies ride free).

I don't gamble but would do the joy ride as well. Good deal.

Genting is just trying to get fools to gamble. The boat trip is a loss leader to capture losers i.e. gamblers.

Come to think of it, I ate at a posh Chinese restaurant at Genting in New York. I didn't like the food. I do not like octopus in soup. The rest of the food was weird. I would have to find out about the food on this cruise. If it is anything like the food at the Miccosukee casino buffet on 8th Street -- No thanks.

Like I said, in 2 years Genting will have a chart about how many people went to Bimini, how much they spent and how much money could've been turned over to Miami and Florida in taxes and job creation. Guaranteed. Now, does that 2.5 hours include going through customs? Because that might trip up the plan a bit. If it takes a long time to go through customs then that $49 might just be money wasted.

True the $49 might be wasted money but wasting time is worse. At least if you go to Miccosukee you can leave when ever but getting stuck on a cruise ship with losers is a bad idea.

The prospect of that giant ship docking in Bimini is horrifying. Rip Bimini.

The thought of Bimini overrun by all that trailer trash is equally horrifying...

Ladies free? I wonder why a man would patronize a business that discriminated against him.
