First Mayor Gimenez held a fundraiser for that good for northing Lynda Bell on May 1st. Now he is holding one for Francis Suarez on June 6th against Tomas Regalado the current City Mayor. The County Mayor has his money man Brian Goldmeier collecting money for the young City Commissioner Suarez. It is interesting that almost all the rest of the City Commission abandoned Regalado. That could be a big mistake if Regalado wins. I just feel that all these people committed themselves way too early in the campaign.
The big question is why? Why put yourself in the middle of a drag-out fight that is brewing when you don't have to? What is Mayor Gimenez up to? The Mayor could certainly have stayed on the sidelines in both cases for a few months, and he should have. Is he drunk with power? Does he think his name is a sure win? I don't have a pony in this race. I think it is too early to commit. I am the smart one. Hey Carlos, how about a fundraiser for Steve Bateman or Lynda Bell's husband? I could run, how about one for me?
Meanwhile, I am sick up of it all, read my post yesteday about my lack of hope for any good.

Didn't Xavier endorse Julio Robaina. What is going on here is a VERY Good question.
Do I hear pigs feeding at the public trough?
Let them keep publishing lists of self-congratulatory. When the Revolution comes we know exactly who is responsible for this mess called Miami.
But until then, everyone who attends that fundraiser should take note that they will inherit the future they create.
Did anyone else notice that the same group of City of Miami Commissioners who are supporting Comm. Francis Suarez for Miami Mayor are the same who voted to split up the Upper East Side (UES)?
It seems to me that the vote went down despite a previous, documented agreement to keep the UES together in order to placate Comm. Michelle Spence-Jones (who always wanted to split up the UES) for the sake of maintaining the fragile coalition of commissioners working against the re-election of Mayor Tomas Regalado.
Why is the County Mayor involved anyway? Does it happen to have something to do with use of public lands in City of Miami or particular promises towards special interests that a certain Carlos Gimenez Jr works for? Of course, nothing can be said for sure at this point and even if it could with a complicit or at least noncommittal state attorney this group of special interests and public officials will get away with as much colluding as they want.
I can't believe I'm feeling sorry for Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado but this coalition is going to walk all over Mayor Regalado to get the People's Pot of Gold at the other end of the Biscayne Bay bridge (Virginia Key).
MIAMI is GOTHAM 305!
Not sure this is a good move for Francis...he looks a bit slimy hanging with this crowd.
The only thing to be gotten on Virginia Key is sewage and seawater. Delusions of money making on public waterfront land will be short-lived, if at all. Shame on the lot of them.
I'm sue that Commissioner Francis Suarez is proud to be endorsed by Commissioner "Ethics" Sarnoff, Commissioner "Date Rape" Spence-Jones and Commissioner "Under Criminal Investigation"Gort, otherwise known as Commissioner Speaks Evil, Commissioner Knows Evil and Commissioner Is Evil.
These guys don't just want Virginia Key but every waterfront property the City controls. They don't need to make money on the real estate but the massive real estate development projects that give the right people the right jobs.
Al Crespo is back!
I didn't die, I just decided to go to the beach. Don't get overly excited, but I will be posting a little something soon, kinda dealing with unfinished business...
Gimenez appears to be building his posse of Commissioners "beholden to him" . Xavier 's highest priority is to get Francis elected Mayor of Miami, and since Xavier isn't up for re election until 2016 this would ingratiate him to Gimenez now.
Wow. Francis Suarez is getting lousy advice. Suarez votes for every illegal billboard put in front of him then he breaks his word to Upper East Side residents. After telling UES activists he would never vote to break them up he promptly caved in to former fingerprint girl Spence who cares about "nut in". Who is pulling Francis's strings?
Does Suarez know who is endorsing him? Did Suarez proofread the invite? Seriously. Doesn't Sarnoff, Spence's and Gort's endorsements mean more votes for Regalado?
I think you are right he should stay out of it. Remember he controls the Elections Department. The one where there we still do not know who generated 2,500 fradulent ballots. He has complete legal and administrative control of that Department, and because of that he should stay out of all elections except his own.
Gimenez needs to get some thinkers around him. Not a bunch of "yes" people, but people with critical thinking skills who can at least follow basic logic, help him think through things, argue when the time comes, and say "no" when they see danger. Every leader of significance will have some of these kind of people around them. They protect the county and they protect him. His focus should be on running the county, not on political intrigue within its municipalities.
The missing link in this article is Garcia-Toledo.
He was a big fundraiser for Mayor Gimenez.
He is Suarez godfather.
His wife a top lobbyist for Genting He is in construction management. Do you think Genting has promised him some work?
Ralphie was Gimenez's driver during the last campaign. Yes, Ralphie and the wife, Vicky, pick up as much taxpayer business as they can shovel into their pockets. Wife, Vicky, works for foreign casino company Genting. Shouldn't politicians like Gimenez steer clear of so many obvious conflicts of interest?
I vote. I usually vote for the lessor of 2 evils. Obama is a great disappointment to me, but I just couldn't vote for Romney. Now the city has presented me with 2 very bad, sleazy candidates. I can't stand to think that either one of them will be in charge of my tax dollars. To think that I will cast my vote for either one of these dirt bags, well, I may just have to skip this one. I don't want to get vomit on the voting booth.
Anyone else stepping up to the plate? Please! I'm begging you!

Carlos considers himself infallible, like the Pope. No one can tell him anything. He already knows it all. Everyone else may as well save their breath.
Now that you think about it, Gimenez will be responsible for counting the votes. It is a real conflict of interest for him to have a candidate that he supports in the race and count the votes in the election too. It is like the election is rigged before it even begins. Strange thinking going on in Miami.
It is sad that he doesn't listen to others as it means we are headed for tragedy. He is missing too much that others can see, and lacks much knowledge that others know. Usually, young people are the ones who know everything. Older people for the most part, know they don't know. There is absolutely too much knowledge, experience, intuition, and whatever out there for any one person to know it all. In recognition of this fact, they seek counsel from others. But for some people growing old does not mean one becomes wiser.
Little Francis Suarez is being lead around by some real lowlifes. As usual, the taxpayers are getting screwed.
Spence-Jones providing an endorsement? Isn't Spence the plaintiff suing the Mayor who will cost the taxpayers of the City of Miami over $2 Mil in legal fees alone?
"Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety", (Proverbs 11:14) Lord give the Mayor the intelligence and humility to consult those who can help him lead us. Please keep him from being too proud to reach. Amen.
Elected officials in Miami-Dade County and Miami are advised by self-serving lowlifes. No wonder public sector employees have such large pay and benefit packages. No one is protecting the taxpayers.
The foxes ate all the hens in the henhouse a long time ago ... now there's a super strain of foxes after the ones already there, feeding on the remains.
If that is the case, he needs lots of help!
It is the taxpayers who need help. Francis Suarez's Invite Committee list looks like a list of un-indicted co-conspirators.
