Lobbyist Ron Book Crying? |
You can stop reading all those glossy flyers from the
Marlin's Dolphin's begging for your vote. The Florida House of Representatives did not pass the funding deal to increase the bed tax. That means it is over?
The Miami Herald is reporting that the election will be called off. They said the deal died because of lack of support from the Miami Dade delegation.
Oscar Braynon, this was a major misstep by you. We don't take kindly to funding a multi-billionaire.

Never read them, just put them where the rabbit could find them (munch, munch, munch...)
Great News!!!!
I think Book has a migraine.
Person with bunny: you are gonna give that poor thing a upset stomach. You need to use those lovely mailers in his potty box as a waterproof liner. At least the rabbit would have some thing to aim at.
I'm surprised yet delighted that this happened. I wonder if it is dead for good. I feel that if they want to add taxes for tourists, put the money towards police, fire, roads, schools, etc not for the stadium.
The money, assuming another vote at another time, can be used to promote tourism. The Super Bowl occurs at South Florida's busiest time so hotels are already full. Full, I say. Steve Ross can spend his own money to improve his stadium.
I hope Carlos Gimenez, the flip flop Mayor, does not give Steve Ross any of our tax money.
They should have allowed the election to go through regardless.....just to show the Mayor and the Dolphins that voters in Dade did not want this. Becareful they don't try to cook up another scheme to get them the money.
Voters would have voted 70% to 30% Against the tax increase. (We hope).
I don't know about them letting the vote go through. While it is clear the voters were in the process of voting it down, maybe members of the Legislature were concerned about cheating too. With them making the call, potential cheating, with say 2,500 fradulent ballots, is moot.
