Baggage Wrap Back AGAIN! By Geniusofdespair

Mayor Gimenez vetoed the contract award last week.
History of shrink /baggage wrap.

The Miami Herald said:

The baggage-wrap vetoes will almost certainly reignite a political frenzy at County Hall, where the lucrative contract to encase luggage in clingy plastic to prevent theft has for years drawn packs of lobbyists.

“My Administration stands ready to continue to work with the Board as we strive to make the right decisions entrusted to us by the residents of Miami-Dade County,” Gimenez wrote in his veto messages.

The Mayor better be careful or he may find himself shrinked wrapped. It's not nice to piss off the hard working lobbyists.

I'm glad he used his veto pen and hope it's not a dog & pony show because this commission vote was pretty veto proof with the exception of Suarez. Maybe some commissioners will re think it. I can hope.

I've looked hard at this issue & the Mayor is wrong, but best to sit on the sideline & watch as the evidence is presented; best part of what's just happened is that both sides will be able to present this time, it should be shocking what comes out.
11 commissioners approved deal, even if it was 9 they all can't be wrong.
As proof starts coming out, it'll be evident that the veto message is very very flawed.
Just follow the #'s & the $$$$$$
If something is too good to be true, etc, etc.
looked it up & same people behind the mayor's decision, were the same group behind Penelas' veto last time in same issue, interesting.
Let the chips fall were they may, but one thing is certain, this is the time for Chair & commission to stand together & send a strong message that they're not the puppets of the mayor.
