You can't have one without the other. By Geniusofdespair

Patriot: one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.- Merriam-Webster
Button available on line.
Does "Tea Party" and "Patriot" seem like an oxymoron to you?  The Tea Party appears to hate the authority of government. Well, it doesn't really matter because the link is here to stay.  I didn't get the memo but I can read the tea leaves.

From the Miami Herald this morning.

I would bet that it might not just be a link we are looking at, the switch to Patriot from Tea Party might be coming: They are 'patriots' and you, therefore, are not.

I think this blog demonstrates the contempt that many of us have for government on a regular basis.

The Tea Party has many factions and many fractions. Some of the bloggers and organizers are making hefty 6 figure incomes.

Like anything, you have to sort of rise above it and know that it represents a frustration we all seem to share with government that serves itself and not the people.

Campaign finance reform (do I hear an Amen).

They are anarchists. I am not going to let them steal the word patriot and subvert its meaning.

They already have stolen it.

I'm not so sure they are anarchists as much they are for government that suits their needs and no one elses.
