Related Cos, the New York developer founded by billionaire Stephen Ross, and its partner Gulf Capital plan to build a $1 billion shopping mall focusing on department stores in Abu Dhabi.
Gulf Related, the joint venture undertaking the project, is also aiming construct two towers connected to the mall that will include a 300-room hotel as well as 120 serviced apartments, Kenneth Himmel, president and chief executive officer of Related Cos told reporters in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
This money should be invested in the Dolphins Stadium by him, Ross, not us.

And he is developing
another multimillion project at the Hudson rail yards in New York. Guy doesn't need our $$$$
He's just such an ass. I don't mind him making billions, I mind MY tax dollars subsidizing a private sports stadium! The BCC needs to really, really re think this. I think they're over confident because the "Braman" slate didn't defeat the incumbents, but they may have forgotten how they did recall VNS and Alvarez! We could be in for a redux, and as much as I supported Gimenez in the past, I do so no longer. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing unfortunately Robaina (the bad one) was most certainly worse! Martinez was even worse than Robaina!
County staffers and elected officials are dopes. They are diving headfirst into another pool without water. Don't they ever learn?
Brahman needs to step up to the plate with $$$$$$$
Why are they so anxious to give them the little tax money that we have for solving problems?
I think the tax money can only be used for things that draw tourists and superbowls, college bowls and international soccer games do that.
I beg to differ. The Boat Show, our Beaches and so much more attract the majority of our tourism. These "sporting events" are one hit wonders and not a long term event.
Art Basel brings in more revenue than the Super Bowl and the other sporting events look like half empty stadiums to me, except for maybe college games but again, they're one hit wonders.
All our tax dollars should go to develop our 24/7 365 day a year tourist business. Steve Ross is worth $4.4 BILLION. He can pay for his own improvements to his own private property. After all he keeps all the revenues.
