Yes, I agree with team Owner Ross that the sun beating down on you at Sun Life Stadium does make it "like a torture chamber." I like the way he blamed global warming. Business people invoke GW when it suits them and then they deny it for everything else.
Anyway, Norman Braman is right on this issue. Yes, he is spot on when it comes to some issues and being against public funding of stadiums is something we are both in agreement on. According to the Miami Herald Braman said:
“I will do everything I possibly can to fight this.”
I support all the changes for the stadium that they are proposing...JUST DON'T USE ANY PUBLIC DOLLARS to do them. The Marlins Stadium will cost over $2 billion when all is said and done, according to the Miami Herald. Team owners have had a good run, but let's finally put an end to public financing of stadiums.

The Dolphins are clueless, the public will go crazy after the Marlins Stadium deal. Do they think we have no memory? They can package it however they want, we still don't want it.
Maybe not for the Miami Dolphins yet!
BUT as for the Private Young Mens Christian Association of Greater Miami (YMCA) they will be awarded a No Bid Contract at a MDC BC meeting to be held on February 5, 2013. The YMCA will be moving its Private Operations from Private properties onto Public Lands and into Public Facilities while taking over the Operating of these Public Parks, paid for by utilizing MDC General Obligation funds. (Public Tax dollars) Will the MDC Mayor Gimenez, then cut back or shut down the MDC Park and Recreation Open Space Department (PROS) ????
THE YMCA INC is well aware that Private Structures cannot be erected on Public Property...... National
This isn't about the Y. Stay on topic.
I wonder if Natacha Seijas has her fingers in this one too. Or is she just a switchboard operator?
The county are such pikers when it comes to "negotiating" with the sharks who represent special interests, whether its the Dolphins or FPL ... my God, don't they ever learn anything!???
How about the Owner pays more than half and the Team - Players, Coaches, Broadcast Stations, Advertisers pay the rest! Brilliant!
The Y deal is important; everyone should know about it. This Y deal is a bad deal for the taxpayers!
This is a whole different ball game from the Marlins' stadium deal. This facility houses an NFL franchise, the Orange Bowl ands various other college games as well as Super Bowls. It is a vital link in South Florida's economy and should be supported as such. The Dolphins should carry the majority of the load, but I don't see anything wrong with the county kicking in to make this facility a robust part of the county economy for decades to come.
Ross better pay at least 3/4. I'll pay 25 cents for you $1 candy bar. Other than that, ain't happening
Dolphins owner Steve Ross also owns the stadium. He owns the stadium. He is a multi-billionaire. Let him renovate his own property using his own money.
Welfare for the rich!!!!!With the little money government has to work with, these unscrupulous predators would take money from a host of needed services to serve their selfish financial interests. With elected officials who support them, we don't need any enemies of the people.
Note to Rebeca Sosa who says it is not property tax. WE DON'T WANT ANY TAX GOING TOWARDS THESE ball parks. Xavier Suarez, we want a public vote on this stick to your guns.
Steve Ross can use change from behind his seat cushions to make the renovations he wants.
When Broward and UM kick in some $, then come see me.
Sunday 8:30am Dolphins Owner? and Jim Defede plus DolFans want a better team rather than a better Stadium.....
