The Best Kept Secret in Miami Dade County: The Dezer Car Collection. By Geniusofdespair

Batmobile. They had a few of them.

Even if you don't like cars, this place is worth a visit. It is touted by the Dezer's (high rise developer father and son partnership) as the "Largest Collection of Cars in the World" and I believe them. The Dezer collection is housed in two giant warehouses in North Miami Beach, 2000 NE 146 Street.

They have 80 cars from Hollywood films and TV shows, about 2,000 cars overall. They also have a room full of James Bond cars (valued at over $15 million dollars). They even had Magnum P.I.'s red Ferrari, the A Team Van and a pink fur VW beetle, with ears, from a movie I wasn't familiar with.

The first warehouse was filled with classic cars from 1901 to the present. There was a rare 1927 Duesenberg Model X (one of 4 knows to exist) worth in the millions. The kitch was provided by the extensive collection of odd dummies they had mingled with the car displays. Some of them were in the driver's seat. If you ask me, they were creepy. Other than that, the trip to the Dezer car collection was a great experience. They had classic rock and roll playing as you followed the white arrows on the floor through the massive collection.

I even met Michael Dezer while there. I thank him for sharing his passion for cars with us. But hey Michael, what is with all the Vespas? There were hundreds of them. You can rent space at the facility for your party that looks like a set for "Happy Days."

Creepy mannequin, one of too many.

Classic Oldsmobile.

There was a woman going around with a soft cloth, seeing to the cars.
Photo of James Dean's Porsche "Little Bastard." He died in a crash with this car.
The silver Porsche Spyder was one of only 90 made in 1955.

Back to the Future Car equipped with the Time Machine apparatus from the movie inside and out.

Robo Cop car.

Roy Rogers motor bike. Great twin, fringed saddle bags.
