Black Friday at Aventura Mall. By Geniusofdespair

This video is only a bit over 2 minutes. It took me 3 hours to make it and I had to shoot it so watch the damn thing.  I KNOW when you don't as there is a counter on it. It was shot about 2pm on Friday, November 23rd at Aventura Mall in Miami-Dade County, Florida. I originally used John Lennon's song "This is Christmas" but YouTube wouldn't publish it so I had to switch the music. Here it is with the NEW music.

Link to YouTube but don't use this link on a cellphone, hit on the video instead.

This video will give you a shopping fix without actually going shopping.

I can't watch the video. It says it contains music content from EMI music publishing and is blocked due to copyright.

No one can watch it. Those bastards at YouTube are blocking it.

I'll change the music. Standby.

Lots of people not too many bags. Many people go to the mall for socialization. There were many people just standing around and watching others. It was a happening. The merchants are happy, and let's hope they do well.

Ive never been to Black Friday because it sounds racist.
I heard they expected less shoppers but more buying this year no wonder Obama says redistribute until we emulate christmas in Pyongyang and Havana. Where I heard they have Bleak Friday, at least its a politically correct term.
If Romney would've won we'd all be at Nordstroms and Saks ....NOT!!!!
Genius you should have asked shoppers how many actually voted? and what was the capital of FLo-RIDA? Would've loved to hear those answers.

Not bad. It would have been better if you spotted some hot chicks wearing leggings and followed them around.

Most of those people are from Spanish speaking countries are are here to buy. If you just walk around you will not hear English spoken.

I drove around looking for a fridge for a friend whose freezer decided to quit yesterday..... Brandsmart had barriers and guards allowing cars in a few at a time. Never got in to the parking lot. Went by 2x.

Home Depot was busy, but the sales person Anibal was patient and nice. He said he got work at 4am and people were in line for the 5am opening. But, they didnt have the right size fridge. Went to 2 stores...they were really not that crazy.

Ended up buying one at sears... Got in and got out. Both sears and home depot can't deliver fridge before next Friday... A long time to be without a fridge.

you should have played some pranks on the shoppers. you can tie some fishing line to a dollar bill and pull it away when someone tries to pick it up. that would be so funny. or you could get a fart cushion and squeeze it when someone walks by. i would love that.

Look at what Obama has done to our economy!!!

Next to making babies, it's the only other thing we do reliably well: shop.

The people in shorts are certainly not from South Florida! It was chilly yesterday. I don't see a lot of shopping bags just a lot of people. Great shot of the parking lot and everyone should be thankful for valet parking there.

I don't do the whole black friday thing but I hope all who did had fun.

you could also get a big realistic looking rubber spider. tie it to the same fishing line and drop it down on people below from the second floor. everyone would laugh at that.

Last Anonymous, are you an adult?

yes, i am considered to be an adult. if you want to have a viral video, you should listen to me. i know what people like. your video is nice but too boring.

here is another good one you can use. go with a friend (like me) to a department store like macy's or jc penny. have your friend go into a fitting room and yell really loud, "hey! we're out of toilet paper in here!" take a video of the people's reactions.

I wasn't looking for a viral video, I was just recording the shopping experience at one of the Country's most successful malls on the premier shopping day of the year.

But next time I will be sure to use a spider on a string and call you to help. Thanks for the offer. I think we could find a dried scorpion. Better?

I just saw this. On Black Friday & Sat I stayed in, hiding. Sunday I went to Swap Shop. Thousands of people buying used junk from soldiers of "Storage Wars." Great people watching, incredible prices, and best of all, we're recycling all that crap they sell at those overpriced malls.
