My political views are typically light years away from those of the blog masters when it comes to left vs right but in this case, I have to agree. The extreme right wing whackos have hijacked the Republican party (as a local example, think Lynda Bell). This is why there were really no moderates in the GOP primary, at least none who lasted more than a couple of states. This is in part due to the extremism of Obama to the left but for challengers, extremism in either direction does not win an election. The GOP has settled for Romney and the evangelicals, as much as they despise Obama, are only begrudginly going to go out to vote for Romney.
Actually none of the partisan politics really matters as much as the fact that elections are getting hijacked. Yes the extremists want to be sure they get in power. But hijacking votes is the worst.
