Standing down the radical right ... by gimleteye

If you are a thinking Republican, this election cycle provides an opportunity: don't vote.

Nice try. I will vote, and vote for Romney! I don't believe for a second anything anyone says will change the minds of either side at this point.

I tell them to write in Sarah Palin.

Gimleteye & Rick, are you both saying that Obama cannot win fairly by the majority of the electorate (electoral college to be exact) that you have to ask people to write in candidates or don't show up?

If Obama is all that, and not just a campaigner in chief, let me know how the next four years are going to pan out and what he'll do differently to bring our deficit down. I'd also like to know about his economic & jobs plans, without bail outs of any industry with political insiders to his campaign!

How about: If you don't like your candidate, vote for ours.

I find it disgusting and shameful that anyone would encourage anyone that if they don’t like “my“ candidate then should not vote.

What are you afraid of? That Romney will come in and clear up the mess we are in when Obama couldn’t?

There is no comparison between Romney and Obama. Even when you add in Clinton, Romney still comes out way ahead. And what does it say for a sitting president who has to bring in a president from his party who served 16 years ago when we were swimming in money because of the dot.com companies to help give him 4 more years?
Are you telling me that he couldn’t take cares of business in 4 years and he is now asking for 4 more? Get serious!

Four more years of what? No jobs, unbelievable deficits and growing, failed business investments handed out to his friends on a silver platter at the expense of the taxpayer leaving us begging for financial help from China?

The only people who seem to have benefited from his first four years were Obama and his wife who take their friends on vacation on the taxpayer dime.

I am still trying to figure out what it is anybody sees in Obama that would make them want to vote for him even one time, but I would never tell them not to vote if he is the one they want. The only sad thing is, they would be dragging down the country along with them.

Talk about being desperate!

Why keep Obama? For the first time in history, your health insurance company can't get rid of you if you should get sick. My biggest fear if Obama doesn't win is that we will go back to the black ages of ruthless capitalistic-to-the-nth degree healthcare. At the very least, we need to make sure the Pubs lose in Congress and the Senate!

We should get rid of political parties alltogether and open up the process for a wider vareity of views.
Romney Sucks and Obama Really Sucks (only because weve seen the damage he has done, We don't know yet how much damage Romney will do)
Bush (take your pick) also sucked.
Clinton didn't suck but apparently Monica did.
Which begs the question of what is happening to the Gene Pool when these are the only people available to lead our country.
I won't vote for POTUS but I never do so no net effect, maybe one of those nice boleteras can "help" me vote.

Laid off during the Obama years said...

I am unemployed with no job in sight. Why on earth would I want to reelect Obama? Four years in office is enough time to see some improvement. Reagan improved a bad economy within one term. Obama made a bad situation worse. It's time to give someone else a chance to run the economy.

Unfortunate how many fools don't care that Romney & Ryan lie through their teeth and even lie about who they are at their core. Ryan's biggest speech ever was the RNC and he couldn't keep from telling at least four huge lies.

Read Matt Taibbi's great piece here and see if you can still stomach to vote for Romney. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/greed-and-debt-the-true-story-of-mitt-romney-and-bain-capital-20120829

Big government 'hater' but he took 1.5 BILLION to 'save' the Salt Lake City Olympics, more than all the other seven U.S. Olympics combined.

Would you look at the liberal democrats mocking the unemployed? We have now had 43 consecutive months with an unemployment rate over 8%. That's the worst unemployment record by a president since the great depression.

Anonymous said...

Maria, I suppose you believe in the trickle down theory? Ease taxes on the richest citizens and it'll trickle down to the poor/middle class? Well it's a complete fallacy and Romney's major plan.

Please Mr Romney, may I have another?!

Clinton was great last night!! ..BUT, my vote still goes to Romney, as are the votes of my whole family.

Maria said...

Not into trickle down. I am into results. Obama promised results and he failed. We can't take 4 more years of failed policies.

Romney is next at bat and deserves a shot to fix the economy. If Romney also fails, he should be out in 4 years, too.

Anonymous said...

As Clinton said, no one could have fixed the entire economy in 4 years after the biggest crash since 1929 (brought on by irresponsible banks). And besides that, look at all the Republican filibusters of job creation bills over the last couple years. I feel for the unemployed too, but I don't see how you could vote for Republicans who put the cynical politics of Obama hating above doing whatever it takes to create jobs.

And if you need another reason, all the horrible anti-woman stuff that's been coming out should be enough straws for a thousand camels.

I had no intent to make fun of the unemployed as we are extremely underemployed at our house. You can't put all the blame on Obama. Congress blocked job bills only because they wanted you to believe that everything was Obama's fault come this election, and you're falling for it. Gov. Scott blocked all sorts of federal money that would have created jobs and aid healthcare for the poor, and you are blaming Obama. And finally, companies like Bain Capital, run by Romney, destroyed companies and sent those jobs overseas. And still you think that guy would be better for the US than Obama.
To all of you middle and lower class that think everything is Obama's fault: Get in you car if you have one and take a ride down Old Cutler Road. Head towards the Bay and look and the 1 percent. Look at their estates, their boats, and their cars. Now think to yourself: If Romney gets in, these people get a tax cut and I get a tax increase. These people have all the money for healthcare, education and retirement, but Romney wants to make cuts to mine. These people will continue to get richer and I'll continue to get poorer. Then go vote. If you still want Romney, you deserve the next four year.

And to those of you that apologized to me for voting for Bush: I will not be accepting apologies for Romney.

Be very careful for those who support the taxing of people making over $250k. The business owners of Sub S corporations are taxed on their individual returns. This actually would have a horrific financial impact on any small profitable corporation under the Sub S rules.

Even if they didn't take a dime in salary or profits, the individual owner(s) would be levied the taxes.

A Sub S with revenue/profits exceeding $250K is middle America! We're not talking about big Blue Chips like GE who doesn't pay taxes on billions (owns NBC and supports Obama too)!

Many of you are smart enough to understand what is going on and to realize that Romney will make things so bad for all of us unless we are very, very rich. If you listen to the republicans you will realize that they are horrible for our Country. Of course from reading some of the comments above I realize that the republicans will get the dummy vote.

Grayland said...

Mensa, I don't like fear mongering or anyone calling voters dummy's because they choose a candidate someone doesn't like. It's their right, and their choice.

Give me proof of your statements, not rhetoric.

It's postings like these that have no solutions, just more bashing, which isn't getting any candidate anywhere, in my opinion.

I wrote I would decide who I would vote for after both conventions. I have decided. However, it's my right to also not share this, which I won't do.

Anonymous said...

Grayland..come on. The fear is coming from one direction. Once a republican all you can do is criticize the other side. If you can vote for the party of Palin, Rivera and Scott, go for it and spare us your independent bullshit and your phony indignation.

Wow, that's all you have "anonymous"?

I truly believe you think I'm someone you know, because obviously you don't know who I am!

I am in fact an Independent. I did not vote for Scot, Rivera or McCain/Palin. I did in fact donate funds to both Joe Garcia & Alex Sink and also worked the polls during early voting for the Democrats!

You remind me of someone who speaks than thinks after the fact. Next time you want target practice, find someone you actually know!
