Lerner has been fueding with Diaz de la Portilla, she claims that Miguel should be supporting his constituents instead of his employer...he works for Florida Power and Light as a lobbyist.
According to the Miami Herald:
Santiago Leon, another Pinecrest resident, said that he sent Diaz de la Portilla an email expressing his disappointment about the negative robocalls. “It was very nasty and the tone was extremely disagreeable.”
The calls came from CONSERVATIVES FOR FLORIDA. Conservatives for Florida is controlled by none other than Miguel Diaz de la Portilla.
Conservatives for Florida got most of its money from Foundation for Conservative Values. Guess who controls that one? Yep, Miguel Diaz de la Portilla controls that one too. Genting gave to that one and so did Nature Coast Conservative Coalition (More Casino money). Florida Leadership Fund gave big to Foundation for Conservative Values. That Committee is controlled by Jack Latvala. Lots of casino money in this committee. I would suppose the casinos are worried that Lerner will muck up their business plan (to ram casino's down our throats)...it isn't just FP&L that is worried about the good Mayor Lerner.
Also, Ron Book is giving to many of these committees. He always shows up everywhere there is money to be made doesn't he?
