Miami Herald Reports Absentee Ballot Fraud Already Under Investigation in the Primary. By Geniusofdespair

Although I do applaud the Herald mentioning another blog in the article today (the blog reported that two women were arrested in Hialeah caught with a bundle of absentee ballots), that Blog author has actually followed around these absentee ballot brokers in the past, the North Miami absentee voter case that the Herald cited was uncovered and reported to the State's Attorney Office by our blog. And the penalty recently added to the law the Herald and Rundle cited on the books: Eye On Miami too.  Watch the video Nov. 9, 2011, Rebeca Sosa mentions Eye On Miami specifically at the beginning of the video.  So this effort to stop Absentee Ballot Fraud is being waged by more than one blog. The Miami Herald left us out in all their reporting. ALSO SEE THE POST BELOW THIS ON ABSENTEE BALLOT STRATEGIES THAT EYE ON MIAMI HAS WORKED ON. Thank you Miami Herald...and after all the free research I have done for your reporters.

In the article Katherine Fernandez Rundle says that it makes it a misdemeanor for anyone to pick up or return more than two absentee ballots other than their own...she fails to mention the heavy restrictions on those 2. To pick up an absentee ballot of a non-family member the affidavit requires a PHYSICIANS statement.  I asked the election chief how many affidavits were submitted last election and if I remember correctly, she said two. Anyway here is section 12-14:

The designee must provide to the Supervisor of Elections identification from the elector, picture identification of the designee, and a written statement signed by the elector authorizing the designee by name to pick up and/or return the absentee ballot. If the elector is a member of the designee's immediate family, the signed statement must include the circumstances requiring the designee to pick up and/or return the absentee ballot. If the elector is not a member of the designee's immediate family, the designee must also provide to the Supervisor of Elections a statement signed by a physician on that physician's stationery that, due to a medical emergency involving the elector or elector's dependent, the named elector is unable to vote at the polls and is unable to pick up and/or return an absentee ballot in person. A designee may retrieve, pick up and/or return (whether by hand, by mail or by any other method) no more than two
(2) absentee ballots other than his or her own per election, only one

(1) of which may be for an elector not of the designee's immediate family. For purposes of this section, "immediate family" means the elector's spouse or the parent, child, grandparent, or sibling of the elector. A designee may only pick up and/or return an absentee ballot on the day before or day of the election for an immediate family member and on the day of the election for a non-family member. The designee must complete an affidavit that states that the designee is authorized by the elector to retrieve and/or return the elector's ballot and shall indicate his or her relationship to the elector, if any. Any person picking up and/or returning absentee ballots in violation of the provisions of this subsection shall be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court having jurisdiction over the cause. * (see video)

I was dismayed that your efforts weren't credited in today's Herald article. You did an excellent job, which I also lauded on my website back in September of last year. I'm writing a short blog about this, but I will be giving you credit for not only bringing this problem to the forefront, but for your brilliant detective work as well. Kudos!

Thank You Genius for bringing this threat to democracy to us. Now lets home the State Attorney's office will prosecute this crime.

I agree that the fraud has already started. In south dade, Tim Milton, the south dade version of a ballot broker is hard at work. He is on the payroll of McGhee and maybe Wallace. I haven't looked at her report but he is on McGhees. Milton does multiple ballots/candidates including Homestead and FL City elected officials. You put a little check up on the report and then what happens throughout the rest of the campaign? One doesn't work ABs for 100.00. Check New Times for information on Milton.

The women engaging in the absentee ballot fraud said they were working for Mayor Gimenez. So it looks like Gimenez will be heading to jail soon. Great work!

The candidates don't get arrested the brokers do!

So if Gimenez is running an organized scheme to steal the election through absentee ballot fraud but he doesn't touch the ballot envelopes, there are no consequences for him? What kind of garbage law is that?

Now there is another article in the Herald saying the SA was tipped off by a "private eye" He says that he tracked her to Gimenez's office.

Something doesn't smell right here. Sounds like Hialeah politics 2 weeks before the election.

Gimenez and other politicians hire the consultants who hire the absentee ballot brokers. They don't participate in the unlawful activity. The candidates all know it is going on but they are not a direct party to it. The little guys get arrested. The only hope is that they sing and implicate those higher up - it is never the candidate. We would be lucky if we could get the brokers.

The "other blog" republished a photo of one of the accused woman, Daisy Cabrera, that appeared in the Nuevo Herald on July 5th. She was in the Herald wearing a Gimenez t-shirt at a Gimenez campaign event and was identified by the Herald in its photo caption as a Gimenez worker weeks before this incident. There is NO QUESTION she is a surrogate of the Gimenez campaign

Geniusofdespair said...

So what. Gimenez won't get in trouble. He has layers of people between him. She could have pictures with Gimenez it still doesn't prove Gimenez knew about what was going on.

Actually, today the other blog posted a pic of Gimenez with the accused woman posing like they are family. Gimenez is flat out lying when he says the ballot broker is not a part of his campaign.

Gimenez is being revealed as a liar in this case. He repeatedly denies the boltera is involved with his campaign, even though there is ample photo and other evidence that shows she is a Gimenez campaign volunteer. Don't you have a problem with that? He is the mayor of the county. Lying in the face of overwhelming evidence is a real character flaw.

The El Nuevo story this morning makes it clear that the inner circle of the Gimenez campaign was concerned about opening up a Hialeah operation. But, apparently the candidate felt it was worth the risks in order to win the election. Do not be so quick to give the Mayor a pass on this...he knew what he was getting into when he waded into the waters holding hands with the political cabal in charge of Hialeah.

So what, he won't get in trouble even if you have a photo of him in bed with her. She is of course part of his campaign as his ballot broker is giving her money. He might not actually know her personally. He poses with just about anyone...even me. I am just saying he won't get in any trouble...too far removed.

The Mafia hires hit men that kill people, but they are not directly involved. The hire them and pay them but don’t do the deed themselves.

So you have no problem with Gimenez obviously lying?

Gimenez said she is not a volunteer with his campaign. That is a bold faced lie.

Looks like the Martinez people are peeing all over your blog site.

Hate AB's. We need to collapse that little cottage industry.

Remember, Gimenez is the anti-venum for Martinez. Get a sign in your yard and make sure your neighbors vote.
