Why Did Geno Perez Switch from School Board to State Rep Race? By Geniusofdespair

I asked Geno (Eugenio) Perez why he make the switch from a school board race:

"After careful consideration, I decided to pursue a run for State Representative District 115. As an educator, I cannot allow anti-public education laws to continue to be part of my opponent’s legislative agenda. I still consider the School Board as an important body that can initiate much needed change, however, educations biggest challenges are coming from Tallahassee.

For example, my opponent Mike Belica voted to increase the cost of College Tuition at FIU by 15%. He also voted to increase homeowners insurance, and sponsored the anti-public education “Parent Trigger Bill”. The sad thing is that he sits on the education committee. Therefore, based on the urgency to save education and revitalize the local economy, my colleagues, community leaders and friends have urged me to run for State Representative."

parent trigger: (from the article link above)

The answer is that Florida parents didn’t want it, because they didn’t see it as a parent empowerment bill. Instead, they thought that the bill, known as the “parent trigger,” would lead to the takeover of public schools by for-profit charter management companies and other corporate interests.

Bileca supported it? Idiot.

He jumped because Carlos Curbelo/Genting probably paid him off to move from challenging Curbelo to challenging, in Bileca, someone who is not going to support gaming.

Isn't it a coincidence that Curbelo's 2010 opponent is, at last-minute like Perez, also running against a House member not walking in line with Genting. See Libby Perez v Rep. Jeanette Nunez.

We need to have people in these positions who have the know how and passion to get things done. So tired of all these politicians talking bs and doing nothing but raising tuition and homeowners insurance. As if we are not already barely above water. The one thing I do know is Eugenio Perez has a proven track record of fighting for what is right. With an extraordinary background and experience!

Plain and simple folks. Billeca has done nothing and no one truly knows him. He does not returns phone calls or text messages. It's ridiculous. He bought the last election. Let's not allow him to buy this one.

Not only did Bileca buy the last election, he misled voters by making it seem that he was Latin-American. I am not sure why he would be ashamed of who is.
