Concept of Trump Studio City |
Breaking news at County Meeting right now: Commission Chair Joe Martinez has a good idea for once...hmm unless it is environmental land he is targeting. When they get through with it, I suspect it won't be a good idea: Martinez wants to put a movie studio on land around Homestead Air Force Base. Can you have an airport near a movie studio? Pepe is saying you have to have both: pretty stupid. Martinez is calling it Trump Studio City. He is talking about Michael Bay. Turn on your TV and watch the meeting. No wonder Lynda Bell was cut off at the knees by Martinez and Pepe Diaz a few week back when she tried to bring up the Airport.

I told you about this two days ago! Nice follow up...LOL...keeping watching peoples hair!
I knew about it weeks before you mentioned it. So. Without any material about it, it isn't very interesting.
A sound stage is not do able on an active run away... This is old discussion from the HABDI era. Between the blasts from the rock mining (which I just felt go off unless that was the nukes I felt) and jets blasting overhead a sound stage be targeted for lots of background noise.
Highly doubtful that you knew about it weeks ago. Nice spin...running for something?
This is when I knew from a reader smarter and more connected than you:

joe martinez wants to sell 800 acres of county owned land next to the base, to build a movie studio complex.
Like a previous writer wrote, this is not a new idea. Not only is the closeness to the runway a problem, but also the distance from the northern part of Miami-Dade County and Broward County where many crew people live.
Homestead, like the studio in West palm Beach that a guy named Thorpe Shuttleworth built was always a problem with travel times.
The last remaining property other than the warehouse in Wynwood that Charlie's Angels used that works is a piece of county property close to the Broward line off of 47th Avenue.
It doesn't need to be built. It just needs to get him good press. It's an election prop.

Martinez is a sleazy mother F--ker with Sasha Tirador as his campaign manager. He is hiding his donations in a corporation. She says it isn't illegal. It should be.
I have heard this idea floated before, along with theme parks, etc.
Is there an actual movie company who has agreed to pay market value for the land with a legitimate commitment to build a giant film studio?
Or is it a bait and switch deal for Martinez's buddies at the Latin Builders Association to build more unneeded housing?
Or is it some stupid pipe dream like that dumb idea to turn that former waste dump in North Miami into a winter wonderland complete with snow and skiing?
If anyone believes that Homestead is going to be the next Hollywood, California, I have some swampland in Florida to sell you.
Isn't this also in the same general area where the government built a professional baseball stadium 20 years ago that is still vacant and yet to attract a team? How many dumb ideas can we tolerate?
And why does anyone need to build on this parcel? Why not save the land from development and allow it to serve as a park or nature preserve?
Steve Shiver is back in town and Donald Trump wants to be in Homestead. This is destined for glory.
This has all the makings of another government giveaway to a billionaire, just like with the Marlins and the Miami Heat.
Why can't we just wait and see. This has the potential to be really good for our economy since Skeletor isn't doing anything for So Florida...
He has an extraordinarily low IQ.
