Above the name of Fred Grimm it says "In my opinion," clearly informing us that he is writing an editorial. The next column over on the NEWS page, Marc Caputo continues his long running love fest with Marco Rubio. Caputo is writing editorials under a news banner. Shame on you Miami Herald for blurring the Editorial-News line. You must be impartial in news reports or be clear that you are presenting an editorial.

Caputo has to go and take that TV critic with him.
I'm probably nit-picking...but it might be helpful if you included a link so we could actually read what you are talking about. *sigh*
He is very Republican and doesn't hide it.
You have to read him regularly.
His news articles about the purge of illegal voters slant to the left wing. He needs to do news or commentary but not both.
Mark Caputo Republican? Ha!
Totally agree. Anyone who reads him on a regular basis sees the opinion clearly bleeding over into the reporting. It's not that he even leans right or at least appears to be enamored with Rubio, it's just that the Herald is calling it "reporting."
.
This is why we do not read the Herald
The Herald is moribund. It has become a sissy tool of right-wing propagandists intent upon installing a proto-fascist Republican government in the United States.
Caputo is an amateurish lackey and an obsequious flatterer toadying-up to Rubio.
Caputo wouldn't know a fact if it rolled over his foot.
Anonymous above you are so correct about the Herald and Caputo. The Herald is one of the worst big town papers I have seen. No investigaitve reporting and totally ignoring the corruptness of the town. The Paper tripled in price and only a few reporters with credibility. If I want to know the political news I read Eye on MIAMI.
The Herald gave up a long time ago. Trace the rot back to Alvah Chapman and David Lawrence (who now parades around like a big thinker). Ibarguen? Now THERE was a Miami disaster. These guys made millions and millions while reporters and staff took it quietly up the backside.
