The Miami Herald Makes Some Moves. By Geniusofdespair

Martha Brannigan is gone from County reporting and is now doing Real Estate. Kathleen McGrory is reporting City of Miami news, previously reported by Chuck Rabin. Chuck has moved to county reporting joining Patricia Mazzei on that beat.  It sucks when they move reporters around, they don't have the history we  would want.  History is important, at least I think so. You are lucky we at Eye on Miami are still covering the under-belly of the County to keep your stomach turned.

Chuck Rabin was just barely starting to catch on how much corruption was going on under Tomas Regalado and his midget Commissioners. Too bad Chuck is leaving the City.

Genius: You are absolutely correct.

You can almost hear the publisher telling advertisers who complain about "too tough" coverage: don't worry, we'll move 'em around to be sure that we get a fresh pair of eyes on civic life.

If Chuck Rabin was, after 2 1/2 years "just barely starting to catch on how much corruption was going on under Tomas Regalado and his midget commissioners," how come it only took me about a month to start figuring it out?

Give it a break. The county's loss is the City's gain, and maybe Ms. McGrory will start digging for some real dirt.

Chuck doesn't get subtle. You have to club him over the head with a story. Don't expect a Haggman.

Rabin has been on the City beat for at least 4 years...Has he ever uncovered anything? Brannigan was good too bad she is gone. At least they have that energetic young girl Mazzi.

Rabin has a bigger territory to cover---yes we know--so he's a mild reporter---give him time, there is lots of variety in the vast county. There's 13 commissioners compared to 5 in the city. A new kid on the block makes sense to find new corners to hang out on.

Hope you read this Chuck & carry the beat with Mazzei, Just remember you've got history in Eye-On Miami's Archives.
