The Herald article seems to confirm the rumor that Braman is backing Alice Pena against Moss in District 9. Can you imagine? Sure Mr. Braman, let’s throw the bums out, but let’s replace them with people who have a demonstrated record of integrity, respect for the truth, and an ability to look beyond their own self-interest. Alice Pena has none of these, and she’s one of Lynda Bell’s buds to boot. If she wins, she’ll fit right in among the current bunch on the BCC. Is this really the best we can do?
I THINK MR BRAMAN IS CHOOSING TO OPPOSE mR mOSS BECAUSE OF HIS SUPPORT FOR THE ALVAREZ PROPERTY TAX INCREASE, THE MARLINS STADIUM AND HIS RELUCTANCE TO SUPPORT CHARTER REFORM. ALSO, I BELIEVE MR MOSS RECIEVES A SALARY FROM AN ORGANIZATION THAT RECEIVES COUNTY FUNDING THAT HE APPROVES AS A COUNTY COMMISSIONER.
So I'm torn. Have very little resources available to donate. Do I send one check to a single candidate for $100 or do I send 5 $20 checks to people like Gibson, Moss, whoever's runing against Rivera, outside my district, but who I support and hope to win and would like to show them that people appreciate the fact the they're running, etc. Any suggestions?
Spend $150 or $200. Write $25 or $50 to a few then get friends to write checks for one candidate. That increases your donation because your friend would never write it without your prodding so you get karma credit.
Definitely give to Luis Garcia, Gibson and Moss. Think about Alison Austin, and whomever is running against West and Rivera. Good use of $150.00 at $25 each.
If you remember, Barbara Jordan was the major opponent to the incorporation of Miami Gardens. Jordan said the city would never succeed. Shirley Gibson became mayor and made Jordan eat her words.
Gibson has an uphill battle though because Jordan also has ex-Commissioner Betty Ferguson on her side. I think she can topple Jordan but it will take a lot of hard work and money.
BTW the person who bashed Mayor Gimenez, he was just attending the event as a well wisher to the outgoing Mayor. To read anything else into his presence, as you did, is simply wacky.

Wow! Great news! Gibson is more popular than Jordan in the district and can definitely beat her.
Goodbye Barbara.
Shirley could win. Wouldn't that be good news for all of us!
Will Ms. Gibson be supported by Mr Braman?
The Herald article said Braman has endorsed Gibson and will help her. http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/05/22/2812570/shirley-gibson-to-challenge-barbara.html
Read the comments there. Very supportive of Gibson, too.

Pena is a whack job. Gibson is a Rockstar.
That is all.

Did you notice that Carlos Gimenez is signing beneath the word "HONEST"?
