I am hoping he dumps Sandy Walker. It would be a huge mistake to keep her when she is also running her sister's campaign and her sister, the always awful Barbara Jordan, will be running for her life against Shirley Gibson. Like Sunshine against a cloud.
Genius you are absolutely, right. Dennis Moss had better get someone to run his campaign who knows what they are doing. Otherwise, he will not win. I am hoping he dumps Sandy Walker. She cannot attract flies to the dump.
God help us if she gets elected, for all of un environmentalists we need to begin a grassroots opposition towards her just like marjory stoneman douglas and nathaniel reed did to protect the verglades amd Big Cypress. the fate of the Everglades, and the farm land of miami dade county rests on us if we dont begin a major campaign against her we will lose the remaining lands left in Miami Dade county , now more than ever we need you mr. farago and the friends of the everglades.
Every committee she's served on she's just been toxic. I cannot believe she's running, well, I couldn't believe it when Bell ran.
She's been absolutely destructive within Redland and the Everglades.
I'd love to ask her how much she's cost the federal government with her crap; the state & the county - then I'd ask she pay everyone back for the millions in damages.
Anyone who can support wild growth, no building permits and then cry foul is insane! I'm sure we'd all love to build a house with no permit but we have hurricane and flooding and if they're not to code, they not only damage their property but adjacent properties!
Bell is such a piece of S*** for doing this and if Braman supports this insane derelict (my opinion); I'd put him in the same boat!
this lady is also part of lynda bells plot to finish destroying DERM once and for all and she wants development in the 8 1/2 squre mile area , she is a F******G B***h
It says a lot about Moss's character that he even associates with Sandra Walker, a criminal who defrauded the county out of 1/4 million dollars. Can't wait to see him go!
I guess Moss is good if all you care about is the UDB line. I have a problem with him using our tax dollars for the Marlins stadium and raising my taxes so lazy government employees could get a giant raise. Not to mention the taxpayer-funded job he has had for two decades or that his wife was hired without competition to head procurement at our corrupt airport. Good riddance to that loser!
Don't go over the cliff just yet. Alice does not have the support of the Farm Bureau - they are embarrassed by her and her antics. The only reasons she got the presidency were: 1) Katie Edwards left - Debbie Brady is a nice lady but doesn't have Katie's clout - Katie blocked the 8.5 Square Mile Area people from gaining any kind of foothold for years; 2) Ivonne Alexander, the president-elect, couldn't hold the position and be the president of FNGLA at the same time, so she gave up the Farm Bureau slot; and 3) they couldn't find anyone else to take the job. Once the entire Board found out about the executive committee's decision to put her in the job there was a lot of grumbling and internal machinations to get her out within 2 years. Also, even if she gets their support, so what? It didn't help Sapp, who was a Farm Bureau guy that ran against Katy Sorenson and got 15%. I expect the same for Pena, especially when the real nut cases in the 8.5 square mile area try to support her publicly.
I don't like this Pena lady, but how many terms for Moss are we supposed to put up with? I came here in the early 90's and he was a commissioner then. So is this his 7th term he wants or his 8th?
I also remember when he was the chairman and he insisted that everyone else say "through the chair" before they speak. What an ego!
Through the chair was a way of controlling a rambling commission who liked to agrue with each other. I know Pena, she is a nut case that has supported illegal activities in the 8.5 area.
It is amazing how you always blame Bell for everything wrong done to DERM. But if you examine the names of the Wetland's committee members, and all the leg work behind everything bad done to DERM and WASD. You WILL see the fingerprints of Mr. Berrego's and Ms. Faddis's on every thing bad happens to them. Unforgettably they both work for Bell.
Lee Hefty and John Renfrew just be careful when you deal with them and do not trust they care about you or your departments.
Jesus Christ is right. More like the fulfillment of a nightmare. But I guess if you live in the 8.5 Square Mile Area, your perspective may be a little distorted. Must be something in the mulch that is leaching into your well water.
Faddis is the lady who worked for Homestead before. She is capable of destroying any one she comes close to. Just Google her name or ask the friends she had.
Bell will be one of them ... it is only a matter of time.
I don't understand how people claim to want change, and then attack a woman who's challenging a 19 year incumbent. This is why good people don't run for public office. Moss has raised taxes, opposed term limits, voted for the Marlins Stadium, voted against the recall, and is paid by a company that is funded entirely by the tax payers. He IS what's wrong with the county. But instead of focusing on him, you focus on his opponent? Seriously? It seems people don't want change. They want the status quo. I, for one, hope Pena or the other woman in the race get Moss out of office.
I personally have to respond to the anon above , change is good in certain ways but in this case No alice pena is running in a commision district that covers everglades natl park , biscayne national park and nearly 50 percent of environmentally sensitive areas remaining and 75% of our farming areas. She has publically been one of the most destructive individuals against the everglades and has made every effort to destroy it in western dade she has been on many committees and has been negative towards environmental issues so before u speak do your homework , moss has done his bad things but he is human too
And to add if there were a environmentally friendly individual with a good record , moss would be out but as i say ge is the better of 2 evils ,we have enough with mentally insane lynda bell we dont need another one who is known to be very toxic and destructive
I've been at odds with Moss on many occasions in the past. However, in this case, I'm not only going to support him, I will volunteer and donate to his campaign.
Since Commissioner Sorenson moved on, he's been the only one to take up her efforts.
This is not only about the UDB, it's about our farmland, Everglades, and so much more the above poster wrote about.
While I'd enjoy term limits; I'll be hypocritical and support him for at least one more against this woman Pena. She's just the most destructive person this District has ever seen.
On a side note, I cannot wait to see her 8 1/2 sq mile supporters go campaign in Richmond Heights & Perrine! They are also part of our Environmental destruction crew, breaking many of our County & State laws by illegal activity, hiding on their wetlands - which believe me, if we have any major storm, we will have to lift them out by helicopter at the taxpayer expense.
Interestimg isn't it that all of those who are speaking against Ms. Pena are "annonymous". It wouldn't surprise me if they turn out to all be part of Moss' campaign staff.
sorry Vanessa many of these people have jobs in the Agencies. You don't know her, we do. She is impossible to work with. You just met her. You are being paid to like her. These are not Moss flunkies, she is infamous in S. Dade as a very annoying and obstinate woman with one agenda: 8 1/2 square miles.
Hey Vanessa, I'll put my name on here as supporting Moss, even though I support term limits. Believe me, we have had battles with him here in Redland, especially during the incorporation issues and a lot of votes I didn't like in the past.
Moss, along with Sorenson has supported our Charles Burr Scholarship Fund (the Strawberry King). His office continues to support this effort by the RCA.
However, I am more than familiar with Ms. Pena and have served on a Board with her. I would not approve the expanded use within 8 1/2 sq mile, in which Bell "expired" my term on the PAB (I was appointed by Katy Sorensen, so there may have been more reasons)
I truly hope you re think working for her campaign and so does Braman.
Vanessa i can tell u are part of lynda bells people well i support dennis moss all the way , u are the problem ur being paid to support pena if not u would not have a job so that makes u part of the problem
To the commenter about the Hispanic population - look closer at the registered voters. The majority are NOT Hispanic, the demographic's may be, not the voters.
Moss knows this District better than anyone and he knows how to win. Vanessa will be spread too thin to run so many campaigns. I'd be concentrating on getting Jordan out. I remember during the recall, the people at the polls trying to get petition signatures to recall Moss were just at a loss because no one would sign.
It's sad you couldn't find a viable candidate, not a total freak show! Shame on you.
I wouldn't worry to much about Vanessa getting paid by Braman or Pena. The only time she won anything was when she piggy backed on people discontent with Carlos Alvarez to take oust VNS.Vanessas involvement with Pena may actually help Moss.
I'm not sure I like where this is going. Just because there's a Hispanic majority, does that mean they cannot vet a candidate and vote for the one who has their interests, not just "being Hispanic, I'll vote for the Hispanic."

Moss has that woman who was under House Arrest. I though you said he wasn't a sleaze?

She is a big mistake Norman. A very big mistake. The Farmers don't even like her.
That woman from the swamp you have profiled needs an image manager. Was she posing for a Corrections photo-op?

Moss has been stellar on most issues. I would support him a thousand times over Pena, that is how bad she is.

Pena can win with Braman's help, she will have money and the district has many more Hispanics. Don't under-estimate these two factors.
