Moratorium On Incorporation Was Lifted. By Geniusofdespair

The County Commission lifted the moratorium on Incorporation.  The vote was 11 to 0. Suarez was absent. Has anyone been keeping track of the X-Man's votes?  I am hearing he is a no-show much of the time on votes - sometimes he walks out just before the vote is taken. Is that true?

The moratorium was lifted, however, that doesn't mean anyone can incorporate. The BCC will continue to micromanage and control via means of a Sunshine Meeting to "set up the rules"! I would have been very happy if they'd stop tinkering and let the people of the affected areas move forward but that's not going to happen. It was a bit of sugar coated vinegar to all of those with MAC's in the pipeline. Groups like the Falls & Redland will probably have to start all over again. That is patently unfair because they did everything under the original rules, ready for a community vote, until the BCC stopped them. This means nothing, at least to me.

As to the "X" man, he did vote to approve the Cemex application for rock mining along the edge of the Everglades and had that UDB moratorium resolution which he never bothered to show up or explain at the Public Hearing.

If X is a no show I am not being represented on important issues. Why isn't anyone running against him? Norman Braman you might have made a mistake not including him on your has to go list.

X-man conveniently was away from the dais but Chair Joe Martinez was absent all together!!!

Martinez was out for medical reasons; Suarez simply leaves meetings when he gets bored. Granted, it must be mental torture to listen to his colleagues grind on about the same issue over and over, but the voting record for Suarez is looking weak.
