Miami Tunnel Gets New Advertisers! ... by gimleteye

When I saw those in the herald today and they called it a "Grand" entrance I told my husband that those are the ugliest boxes I had ever seen.....

A grand entrance can be seen a zillion places with very different scale and design --- the coral rock entrances to Coral Gables makes a "Grand" statement and they are tiny in comparison.

Throughout the US and the world, entrances invite our eyes to feast on design and texture --- so, why are we stuck with this behemoth ugly structure if it isn't slated to be a bill board?

What do we drink in this county that makes us believe bigger is better and ugly is "Grand"? It is time to get those government officials and staff off whatever they are toking!

why would this be the FIRST government buildings/properties or DOT - managed highways to allow this kind of advertising?? Seems like this is a cheap shot.

What are you talking about, there are big beer ads already draped on the city of Miami municipal building.

The outdoor advertising industry wants to put advertisements on everything. Watch as the Children's Museum on taxpayer owned Watson Island tries to put a LED billboard on its building.

More elected offficials need to say, No.
