Public Hearing on Wednesday - Watch the Damn Video Already. By Geniusofdespair

Word is out that some of you are NOT watching videos I post. Well damn it, watch this one!! I will quiz you on it. I will simply say to you: "11/11/11?" If you look at me funny I will turn and never look back, leaving you to try to figure out what the hell the numbers mean. It can also be the code to meeting me, I will be kind to anyone that gives me the numbers...but then STILL quiz on content.

I worked on this project for some time and the least you can do is watch the end results. The ordinance now has 10 sponsors with the addition of Commissioner Monestime.

Looking good County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa (Pictured here with a radiant Judith Thompson)! I have a special thank you for the Commissioner in a blog next week.

What an incredible story. And I can't believe how terrible the County Elections Department staff handled her complaint. They are disgraceful.

Genius, you are doing a great job on this issue. Keep up the fantastic work!

A fee is charged if the review of the forged ballot takes longer than 15 minutes? You have got to be kidding me! Shame on you, Lester Sola!

Not Lester Sola anymore....but he was at the helm when they told me I would have to pay if it took longer than 15 minutes. I think elections should look at the access to public records law again and rethink their time limit. They should also care about every single vote and CARE a bit more about a stolen vote...especially when it was obvious that they did not correctly compare the signature -- i.e. their fault the vote was stolen.

Did the police dust the envelope for fingerprints?

OMG now I am glad they didn't let me touch the envelope.

As this video shows, Lester Sola was incompetent and a failure at the Elections Department. So when Mayor Gimenez took office, what did he do with Sola?

Unbelievably, instead of firing Sola, Gimenez promoted Sola to head all County procurement, human resources, facilities, and capital improvements. Talk about an unwise staffing move.

you are very modest genius. rebecca sosa said publicly at the meeting that she was inspired to propose her ordinance after reading your blog. congratulations!

Diggy don't agree. It is not that Sola is incompetent, but there was a lack of CONCERN on this whole issue.

Gimenez kept the worst of the worst of the Alvarez administration- people like Sola. What a shame!

Some years ago about 3 or 4 months before the general election, my sons wanted to change their party registration. One received the new card, the other one did not. We called to ask the status of that change, nothing happened. I finally called two commissioners. Within a day of my call, my son received a call from a man who identified himself as Lester Sola. He wanted to apologize for not sending him a new card promptly but they were in the middle of a purge of the voters' list. When my son told me that I was stunned at the bold-faced lie because, as I told him, Elections does not conduct a purge three months before a general election. He received his new i.d. three weeks before the election.

As bad as David Leahy may have been, Lester Sola is in a league of his own.

I bet what happened to Ms. Thompson's ballot was that it was intercepted by someone in the home where she lived. Because the residents do not "pick up" the mail or distribute it, they never know if they received any mail unless it is given to them. The absentee ballot brokers pick up the ballots personally from their "inside person", mark them and send them out.

Genius:

I will always remember you as unselfish and a beautiful person. You have a good heart, and you will be blessed for your hard work to try to bring some sanity to this plague brought on by those who attempt to buy their leadership status by stealing votes. For Shame!!!!

The idea that that in America, someone like Ms. Thompson could have her civil rights abused by a greedy and corrupt politician stealing votes is beyond belief and we should never forget it.

We credit Ms. Thompson for her strength and stamina, the courage of a determined woman who would not stop searching for an answer.
The disgraceful treatment she was forced to endure by the Election Department should never be allowed to stand, and the Commission is required to design regulation(s) preventing this from happening to anyone again. If we cannot depend on our Election Department to protect our vote, it begs the question, “Why are they there?

Our constitution is very strong, yet fragile. We have to be constantly alert, every single moment of every single day because we are surrounded by a culture of corruption, a level of misfits, that would do anything, including stepping on our constitution for their own self-aggrandizement.

God Bless You and Ms. Thompson

I bet if that absentee envelope was evidence in a serial murder investigation, they could find who did it. The authorities just don't care. Vote stealing is not important to them.
