Most of Moss's hit came in real estate, with his home losing more than half its value and a condo he owned went from $121,100 to $52,740 in 2010.
Moss's salary at his outside employment at the Richmond-Perrine Optimist Club went up slightly from 2008 to 2010 - $61,809.00 to $64,182. (In 2005 he was making $15,000 from Crime Gopher It, Inc. and he also had a teaching job at Miami Dade College - does not indicate how much he earned.

I looked at the new Miami County site of check disbursements for the Richmond-Perrine Optimist Club from Sept. 2006 to the present. The Club got 114 check in that period. In May of 2009 they got a check for $241,655 from the County.
Between March 16, 2007 and July 21, 2011 -- the County paid the Richmond Perrine Optimist Club about $2,300,582. I guess that more than covers Moss's salary. Exactly what does this club do?

This is a good example of what is wrong with Miami-Dade County. How can they justify that huge amount of taxpayer money going to the Optimist Club, a portion of which is most assuredly quietly designated to pay Commissioner Moss, a sitting commissioner's salary?
Optimist is an organization of usually good standing in the community. Are they contented to have their reputation bruised by this mysterious association?
Optimist and the County need to explain.
Also, what is this business with the Crime Gopher It, inc. with Commissioner Hayman? What do they do and is his salary also coming through the county in a round-about method?
Everything that these commissioners do is connected. They look after each other and I suspect this is no exception.
Can anyone wonder why the County is thought of as the piggy bank for Commissioners?
This clearly needs to be investigated.
What about Moss's wife who was the head of procurement at the airport. She was hired with no competition or job interviews.
Dorrin Rolle had the same scam going with county-funded JESCA.
I live in Commissioner Moss's district for 16 years, and he has done nothing except let Publix build two new stores also right next to the existing Publix on SW 152 street and 137 ave. Three Publix stores within 2 miles of each other, so much for holding the line on the push to build further west.
Additionally, Moss's district has changed to a heavy hispanic area west of the turnpike, so maybe if we are lucky Moss come next election will get beat by a non black.
Lets be honest, these make beleive jobs like the one Moss has with the Optinist Club is nothing new in the county. Lets look back at former commissioner Rolle, he ran his non-profit into the ground but he made sure he got his pay checks as he screwed everyone else. Commissioner Sejas had the same type of no show job in her own district.
Lets get rid of these blood sucking commissioners once and for all at the next election. Or maybe if we are lucky we can re-call them before they come up for re-election.
The commissioners are at county hall all the time and they often have full day meetings. So when do they have time for a legitimate outside job? I am particularly suspicious of Rebecca Sosa's full-time teaching job with MDPS.
Moss' optimist club is re-eection insurance. They campaign for him.Where is all that county money going?

record is and has been sensitive to the enviornment & protection of land parcels outside the UDB (Urban Development Boundry).
Right now Mr Moss has the potent-

Comm Moss has positioned himself
as a champion of the South Dade
economically distressed commun-
ity.He has also proven to be a big supporter of the entire agricul-
ture community of Miami Dade.
It is interesting to know that when Mr Moss was a freshman commissioner he received the en-
couragement, support, and blessings from our "River of Grass"
Lady, Majorie Stoneman Douglsa.
With that note and taking a strong stand on our enviornmental issues,
he could establish himself a rich legacy among the voting citizens of Miami Dade County.
We should all encourage Comm.Moss
to carry on the strong traditional
protection of our sacred tropical
enviornment.

The Roberts Rules were instituted (or enforced) at the County Commission by Moss to KEEP NATACHA in line, so she couldn't go to direct attack on others..
Hey Genius your right Moss is not really a bad guy, but he has demonstrated through his votes his support for pushing the UDB further west. Additionally, lets not forget how he screwed all of us by voteing for a sweet deal for the new marlins ball park, that alone should be grounds for his recall. Besides, Moss has served for many years, now, its time for someone new, or do we elect these snake oil saleman and woman for life? If for no other reason just getting new ideas from a new commissioner would be a nice change from these old timers who have sold themselfs like a whore on the street and spend most their time doing nothing but running for re-election and, collecting a pay check for a no show job.. Just take a step back and look at all the commissioners is there anyone that just jumps out at you because of the great job he or she is doing? Yea, none... You really have to laugh at how such poor charactered people end up getting elected here in Miami.
Commissioner Moss isn't a 100% UDB hold-the-line voter, but pretty close. He's only voted to move the boundary twice in the last 6 or more years. Once for the Hialeah application (vote was 12-1) and recently for the Homestead speedway because there was a land swap pushing out an equal amount of land beyond the boundary.
He has served on the commission for a long time, but nobody can point to anything unethical in his behavior as a commissioner and he has accomplished a great deal. the zoo recovery and new exhibits and the new arts center in Cutler Bay were ideas he took from the community and stuck by all these years to make them happen.
Moss is an example of why term limits are a bad idea. If you have a competent and ethical representative, why throw that out just because the clock ran out?
