Gimenez's PAC, Common Sense Now, raised $1,052,566.67. In the last report there was $20,000 from Juan Planas through a PAC called People for Truth and Integrity, Inc. A lot of developer money is hidden in these PAC's. People for Truth & Integrity raised $50,000 from Shores Development, which is that bad penny I ALWAYS write about, Wayne Rosen, many times a partner of Michael Latterner and Lennar. Wayne Rosen gives heavily to candidates in Homestead, mostly through PAC's. The only thing he has going for him is he hates Lynda Bell. This PAC looks like it spent all its money to help Gimenez in his bid for Mayor so add another $128,850 to his campaign kitty. If you add it all up it comes to $2,093,634.57. Could be more I don't know about.
The clear winner in this campaign, besides the Mayor, was Quantum Results' Alberto Lorenzo.
Does anyone know this Willis Howard? He is always on these PAC's as an expenditure.

I suspect there are Lennar donations but I have no documentation on Lennar donations.
Willis Howard is the operative who first got Andre Pierre elected as mayor in North Miami. He was also involved in the group trying to turn Biscayne Landing into an indoor ski resort. Talk to people in that city and you'll hear allegations about extremely questionable absentee ballot operations that trump anything ever mentioned in your blog. Others cite allegations of profiting from inside deals some tie back to the mayor and his law partners.
Many community observers raised serious questions about Gimenez once Willis Howard joined his team. One insider wonders whether this was an Al Lorenzo move or whether it was DLP driven. If you dig deeper you will find Robaina's team employed some of the team that worked for or supported Pierre and Marie Steril during North Miami's May election which was abundantly loaded with allegations of absentee ballot fraud, fraudulent assisted voting and impropriety involving Miami-Dade poll workers.
One activist questioned whether Gimenez actually knew Howard was on the team and whether his advisors decided they had to "level the playing field."
I made a $100 contribution to Carlos. Will my complaint get a return call as fast as Ferro or Rosen?
speaking of North Miami...the corrupt 3 musketeers on the city council, Pierre, Steril and Marcellus, are about to move to outsource garbage collection in the city and close the city sanitation department "to save us money" ....wonder how much of a kickback they'll all be getting from the company that bids and wins that contract? SoFla..so corrupt...so sad.
That post about Willis Howard now makes me question the Gimenez hiring of North Miami City Manager Russell Benford as a Deputy Mayor. Benford was regarded as nothing more than an Andre Pierre puppet. Read the Herald articles about the hidden cameras in Pierre's office for some insight into Benford's lack of judgement.

Even Carlos Gimenez is flattered by the amount of campaign money he can collect from developers/special interests.
Some things will never change...
Lennar supported Julio Robia. they gave nothing to Carlos.
They usually don't give directly to campaigns...person who spelled Robaina... Robia....
It may be it's better not to know how beholden politicians are to special interests because now that I know all this about Gimenez I'm inclined not to even bother to ask him to represent the public interest. Why bother? Same thing with City of Miami. It's too discouraging, insurmountable. That's when people give up even bothering to go vote.
Willis Howard became Jean Monestime campaign manager after Monestime forced Dorrin Rolle into a run-off.
Howard lobbied for the chief of staff position for MDCD2 when Monestime won, but Monestime chose his strategic advisor who has since left County service to farm.
Willis Howard was Mayor Burn's campaign manager in both of Burn's campaigns in North Miami
The problem here is the "win at any cost" element.
Genovese is Al Maloof's company too. He runs the consulting-lobbying side. Maloof employs Barbara Rodriguez Gimenez who is the Mayor's daughter in law, married to his son Julio Gimenez.
