The Mayor and the Old Guy. By Geniusofdespair

I was looking over some of my photos from the swearing in of Mayor Carlos Gimenez and I found these two shots that told a story. You have to ignore the drama playing out in the center of this first photo with Mega-Developer Jorge Perez and the unknown blond woman and instead go to the edge of this photo for the second drama. This little old man walking with a cane in his left hand was desperately trying to get to the new Mayor by propelling himself forward, pushing off the back of chairs with his right hand. His eyes and smile are filled with his positive determination. Finally, with a few shots in between, he made it (pushing past me in his attempt) apparently to the Mayor's delight.

Oh, the other drama? That played out as well.

That is so sweet! The second drama has dramatic body language.

The woman is telling Jorge Perez she knows an excellent tailor in Surfside whose services he could certainly use.

C'mon, everyone knows that Blond-in-a-bottle. Think 29th floor.

It is not Hudak, she is wearing a different suit in my photos of her that same day. I originally thought the same thing. I have pictures to prove IT IS NOT HER.

Soooo... what's the point of this post?

The point -- every picture tells a story.

The point is there doesn't need to be a point. Can't you just like a humanistic photo of your usually stern Mayor?

Well, if every picture tells a story it looks like Jorge Perez has no idea what the blonde wants and she is trying hard!

That blonde is a Burgess/Alvarez/Hudak crony named Ana Bustamante. She is a former secretary who was hired non-competitively by Alex Munoz to serve as his aide under the title “Assistant to the County Manager.” She has been with the county for 20 years and she made $115,148 last year. She was in charge of the disastrous employee picnic at the zoo a few years ago (the one where they ran out of food).

Life is good when you are a crony!

Genius, it doesn't appear that anything gets by your readers!

And now she works for the Mayor.

Gimenez claimed to be different than Alvarez but he has kept all the unqualified, politically-connected Alvarez staff members. What a disappointment.

Don't be fooled. The ones you have to worry about never show up at any of these events. They don't operate on this level.
