Councilman Patrick Fiore - Angry Guy. By Geniusofdespair

Here is Palmetto Bay Councilman Patrick Fiore getting hot under the collar at about 40 seconds on the counter (one minute video). I have to admit his demeanor is a bit scary, you be the judge. Fiore, during a Council Meeting July 19th, claimed he and his family were attacked by other Palmetto Bay residents because of the dispute over Palmer Trinity school's attempt to expand.

Go to this link for the full video of the meeting. Go to this link for the Miami Herald article on the meeting.

Extremely inappropriate and borderline irrational behavior.

No doubt he's having some serious personal issues.

If he's so concerned about his family's safety, maybe he should consider contacting law enforcement instead of projecting in a public forum.

Mr. F is aggressive and short tempered. He has an extremely foul mouth.

I have known Fiore for years and he has always been a wack-job.I can't understand how he was elected. Be smart PB, get rid of him in the next election or recall him.

lil bit scary - does he work with children?

What's with that hair? That's obviously not natural. Is it a wig or is he just bleaching it? It looks ridiculous!

This is nothing. You should see South Miami commission meetings

Palmetto Bay is going through extremely tense times. There is no leadership. All five councilmembers are going for each others throats.

The crowd was very unruly at the meeting. The Miami Herald even remarked in one of the photographs of Stanley Price turning to face a heckler from the audience.

The unruly behavior came from those opposing the school.

You should post video of both the acting Mayor Shelley Stanczyk and actual behind the scenes mayor-Councilmember Joan Lindsay with their unsettling rants and obvious disrespect for the Palmer side. The conduct was unbecomng elected officials who are at least supposed to pretend that they are impartial.

This video does a diservice to the people of Palmetto Bay and tactics like these only move the city deeper into the sewer that it is rapidly sinking into.

Let's try to heal the city, not further demean and divide.

Gee, I actually watched the video and it wasn't what I expected at all. You anonymous above promised some fireworks and there weren't any. Yeah, the 1 second turn around by the attorney but that was all. I couldn't even hear anything on the tape that Fiore responded too. I think he made it up.

And, by the way, the comment Price responded to came from the supporters side, not the opposers. They are the only ones who were complaining at the mike.

So what gives? Why are you so mean spirited towards the Council?

Geniusofdespair said...

What gives? You didn't watch the video I posted. The attorney doesn't even speak on what I posted. You are flawed.

I didn't call you GoD meanspirited unless you are anonymous above me. The Anon above me described a rowdy meeting. I didn't see it that way. I went to the hearing last year and in 2008. They were rowdy. So a couple Palmer supporters spoke out doesn't a rowdy meeting make. Interesting that you call what the Council members were doing a rant, Anon. I am taking it to be that you are a Palmer supporter. That would explain your attitude towards the Council.

Palmetto Baybe said...

I was there... The residents were pretty quiet.. In fact, they were told that they could not applaud or make noise. She told the police officers to escort people out if they did.

Patricks demeanor came across stronger in person than what the tape indicates.

Anonymous said...

Yup you are correct Palmetto Baybe. It was a whole lot louder in person but then you should have been at the Council meeting when he just about went through the Mayor to get to Pariser and yell at him over some imagined slight. And of cours there's his pounding on the desk. One day there will be a news story about Fiore getting arrested at a meeting over his behavior. I thought the warning Stanczyk gave the audience at the beginning of the meeting was aimed at him or at least supposed to include him.

Follow the link to the actual meeting. I definitely agree with Genious that Fiore was a scary dude but isn't he always? However, I heard no rant other than Stanley Price continuing his objections to the meeting. It was classic though when he complained about standing at the podium to speak, he was tired. Stanczyk offered him a chair and what could she do to make him more comfortable. That did get a rise out of the audience. Not sure if it was laughter or couldn't believe that someone would be solitious of the "evil" Stanely Price.

Anonymous said...

He was just fine. You just do not like the man

Anonymous said...

Well I'm not sure if the Anon above doesn't like Stanley Price or Fiore but I suspect they are both candidates for dislike. I went to the meeting because I didn't know there would be a tape. Fiore was his usual self, unprepared, never opened the book before he got there. Said nothing about the issue except his prepared comments (by who we don't know), or campaign speech. He always says the same thing about the budget and about how he's new. If you want to talk about a rant it's Fiore with his "dis-repecting" imagined affront to his family. Wish he could look prepared but between the 2 councilmen, it was hard to tell who was less prepared and who was dummer. Somewhere near the end of the tape Tendrich said something he wasn't supposed to and Price was jumping up and down. The Village attorney sounded mortified and promised to forward copies to the other side. Where did the voters of Palmetto Bay dig up these two guys anyway? Tweedle dumb and dumber. Just one has a bad temper and dye job.

This entire argument is so silly and personal. No wonder the city is sliding deep into the weeds. I did attend the meeting. I am not a Palmer supporter, but I know futility and grandstanding when I see it. You can tell that the entire event was scripted. There needs to be an investigation into whether these commissioners talk outside of the public meetings. I can tell you why the opponents never got up to speak: because they knew in advance what was going to happen. They were assured by Councilwoman Lindsay there was no need to speak. Look at the tape.

I think that the two male council members were smart to keep their mouths shut. It was obvious that the deal was cut before the meeting started. Everyone on the anti-school side was talking about it. They could not even keep it secret because they were so proud of it.

The meeting made for comic theater, but bad government.

It isn't silly when a councilman is menacing towards a citizen. He should be above that or if he feels threatened he could

1. call the police or
2. resign.

Anonymous said...

I disagree with your comments about the script. The mayor seemed to be left holding the bag when Lindsay made her motion. She was still talking.

Did the men keep their mouths shut or were they just totally unprepared or didn't understand the proceedings, as always. Fiore never opens his materials before a meeting. Take a look at his book. Everyone elses books are dogeared and tabbed, not Fiore's. He just always makes the same speech about cost. Never about the issues. Tendrich had a book that was apparently all. Everyone else had a library with them. Level of participation is not always about those who do the talking, sometimes it's a tell as to level of knowledge, preparation, understanding or just plain IQ. These two guys can't walk and chew gum.

What an incompetent city commission and a prime example of why there should not be all these little cities like Palmetto Bay and South Miami. These are not elected officials. They are condo board members. They have the same mentality and lack of attention to legal requirements.

How is it that a local realtor can put the entire meeting online, but the city cannot? Who ever heard of having to watch a commercial before a city commission meeting. Is this realtor a campaign contributor to or supporter of the Mayor?

Will adverstisements be placed on city police cars next? How about bailbondsman ads across the back of the front seat of the police cars so those arrested can find someone to bond them out?

There are many problems in Palmetto Bay that are not being addressed. Transparency is one. The meetings need to be placed on channel 77 and online. This needs to be done by the city, not a well meanging and resourceful local realtor.

Civility is another issue. This town needs a facilitator to come in and calm it down. I know a few that could assist. The lack of leadership and failure to move forward for the betterment of the entire city is poisoning its spirit. The starting point is for the mayor to keep order at meetings. She appears to gavel down only those opinions that she disagrees with and its obviously causing frustrations for the other councilmembers including councilman Fiore. He should feel that the mayor will step in, that he only have to take a breath and not have to respond. The mayor should have stepped in and shut down the heckler, but you did not hear anything from the Mayor on the tape.

And on other notes, what a mean spirit bunch on this blog. Nice comments above, attacking people for their out of town South Philly accents and hair. Anyone want to comment on the hair helmet worn by the mayor? Is that really her hair or does it hide the ear piece she must wear to take direction from her handlers in the audience? Did that sound positive? No, it is not, so let us move on into more productive discussions on solving problems.

What about his HAIR? Am I the only one who sees something very strange?

Anonymous said...

I agree with you, Anon above. He is menacing and definitely distracts those at the meeting both the attendees and the Council members. You never know when he will go off. Especially since I hear that he gets messages from his friends in the audience, The Palmetto Bay Village Voice. They tell him what to say and do during the meetings. Silly aren't they to talk about it in the lobby and let the citizens know about it. Menacing and stupid. Bad combo for the citizens of the village. Is it catching to his new best friend Tendrich?

Anonymous said...

oh, please! All this talk about his family and the threats is just BULL____! It's drama to build hype and image for him. The underdog, the new guy who isn't part of the old guard, not a good ole boy, etc., etc. Poor Patrick he does so much even under threats etc. Please. His new best friends are the Village Voice people. Those sour grapes, poor losers who want to take over the government to make a buck. The roll call at the Village Voice are all the residents who think they can make a buck off the Village or who were outed during failed campaigns for their dishonesty and bad past behavior and are stiffled by honest government. Patrick is one of them on all counts. His behavior and acting out just draws attention to him. Negative attention is still attention.

Geniusofdespair said...

Let's refrain from oh please, pleeze or anything similar from Palmetto Bay residents. And using the word "silly". Sick of same old crap from you guys.

Anonymous said...

I get your point, but sometimes the other choices of words could be harsher.

Wasn't Fiore run out of West Kendall for voting yes on a controversial project when he was on the Community Council? He was darn near linched and his neighbors turned against him so he sought greener pastures in PB. Apparently no one in PB bothered to Google him. Trouble follows him! I think he works or worked for Children and Family Services. He probably does or did have contact with children. He is a loose cannon.

Patrick behaved just fine and his comments were well delivered and rational. Your comments are much don to about nothing

Anonymous said...

if you think that is fine behavior for a public official, you need your head examined.

Anonymous said...

Make fun of his hair all you want, but Patrick wins the best looking member of the Palmetto Bay Commission contest. Hot under the collar? No. He is simply the hottest.
