Bruno Barreiro the Big Loser Today. By Geniusofdespair
Bruno Barreiro put on the agenda that Cities could opt out of the County sign ordinance. Well he was the only one who supported the dumb idea. It died in Committee - County Infrastructure and Land Use. Maybe the announcement that Norman Braman didn't support the change put the fear of God in some County Commissioners (members of this Committee: Audrey M. Edmonson Chair; Barbara J. Jordan Vice Chair; Commissioners Bruno A. Barreiro, Jose "Pepe" Diaz, Jean Monestime, and Rebeca Sosa).

That's one for the good guys! The county may save my faith in mankind! (You know that the city of Miami, the state of Florida, and the US Congress won't.)

he is useless- a bumbling fool- can't put a coherent sentence together and is always doing little favors for Regalado and Gutierrez--times are changing in the right direction- let's hope the change continues until he is OUT
Billboard companies and mural ad companies and their many lobbyists and boosters on government payrolls will continue trying to blanket Miami-Dade County in more LED billboards and in more murals ads. Thank god for the new activist group Scenic Miami-Dade, Barbara Bisno and it's many activist partners.
Norman Braman and Comm Dennis Moss were crucial in helping commissioners see the light.
Great victory for commonsense.
Under an onslaught of evidence showing that the City of Miami had allowed signs that violated Federal, State, County and City laws Bruno Barrerio ended up with no support from his fellow commissioners.
Clueless City of Miami commissioners continue to ignore voter disgust with their efforts to approve more LED billboards towering over residential neighborhoods.

We had an unbelieveable responsse to our action alerts - nearly 70 emails from all over the county sent in less than 48 hours; the members of the committee (Edmonson, Diaz, Jordan, Monestime and Sosa held strong and didn''s second Barreiro's motion to let cities opt out of county sign ordinance.
Comm. Moss's showed magnificent leadership in having opposing resolution from County's Image Advisory Committee sent to all commissioners before the vote. Norman Braman said this is an issue County needs to cotinue to manage. The federal government found Miami violates federal lww.
MNU, UEL, Tropical Audubon, Overtown Community Oversight Board, Village of El Portal, several homeowner assns all weighed in to oppose Comm. Barreiro.
The response from our communiiy is enough to renew faith that the good guys may previal after all.

Barbara Bisno is again on the right side of an issue. It was heart warming to see five of the six commissioners on the Infrastructure Committee agree with her. Sponsor Barrerio received no second to his motion.
ScenicMiami.org will continue fighting visual pollution.
Barbara Bisno and her experienced group of activists will continue to educate the public to the evils of LED billboards.
80% of voters polled state they hate LED billboards.
