Here I am in beautiful Key Biscayne enjoying the lovely weather and I am sitting in Miami Dade County box seats in the exciting rounds of the worlds fifth most important tournament.
I've been chatting with the wait staff around here between matches, who tell me only a couple patrons tip in this box. Its so bad, in fact, that none of the staff want to work the county box because the guests are "shitty tippers" my words not theirs and they are rude to boot. There are 24 box Suites at the Sony Ericcson on Key Biscayne and the wait staff hate serving at the county box most of all.
Can you imagine the audacity of it all, you get free tickets, have indoor/outdoor access to the stadium court, you get all the drinks you could want and nice snacks to boot and you don't tip. Its just sad. Well I will be breaking the mold and giving a $5 tip. Come on Commissioners and your guests: Dig into your pockets and tip the staff. Stop being so notoriously cheap.

Really sucks for Lynda-they don't serve Busch beer in the can or pork rinds.
What the hell are you doing in the County’s sky box? Already receiving perks from the commissioners you don’t attack all the time?
Those 26 seats should be sold to pay for some of their salaries...
I was NOT at the Tennis Tournament. This is a guest blog. But if I were what would it matter, better me than them. Why is everyone so ready to attack the messenger. You putz.
Sorenson used to give all of those sorts of things away to non-profit groups in South Dade.
Palmetto Bay Mayor Shelley Stanczyk was there as guest of Lynda "perk" Bell. Her guest was Bev Gerald. Interesting. Very interesting. We will be waiting to see of Mayor Stanczyk lists these seats on her gift disclosures. A great example of fiscal conservative behavior.
County Commissioners and Manager's staff, dept directors receive free tickets to the tennis tournie every year ever since it was built. They like to keep it on the down/low because they know they should report those tickets on gift disclosure and I'll bet half of them don't.
Everything is very hush hush when the manager's office distributes the tickets to staff and dept directors. That's why you got alot of angry county employees who stand to lose their jobs if they got caught excepting free tickets from a vendor. But they see this giveaway every year and they know the perks are never reported. That's why the county loves to build these "entertainment" facilities - FREE TICKETS FOR LIFE!

I thought Bev & Shelley had a lot more integrity than that. They're now brown nosing Bell? You got to be kidding. Palmetto Bay doesn't need anything from Bell.
All I can say is "suckers" and using those tickets from Bell will come back to bite you when she's recalled.
Any local candidate doing things like this will not get any more campaign contributions from me, but maybe you'll get some from the rock miners & fpl so it won't matter.
They should be happy to have a job.
Integrity? It appears that Bell's wining and dining of Stanczyk and Gerald bought Palmetto Bay out of the FPL fight. Pinecrest Mayor Lerner and South Miami Mayor Stoddard are left to carry the load, both financially and in Tallahassee.
No leadership. Box seats appear to buy complacency.
What's wrong Stanczyk, couldn't afford to attend tennis matches before or are you now just that starstruck to see and be seen? Disgusting. A disgrace to those who supported you.
A tennis fan are we? I wonder if Mayor Stanczyk has been promised free tennis to vote to renew the Jane Forman Tennis Center contract in Palmetto Bay.
Perhaps Mayor Stanczyk will volunteer to add more FPL lines in the current FPL easement that runs through her city.

Just watched the men's final on CBS and wonder how the poor wait staff did this week? What a sad, sad statement.
How spoiled and ungrateful can staff/guests be? I cannot imagine taking free tickets to the Sony Ericcson and being too cheap to tip.
