Net Worth of Candidates for Mayor and Commissioners. By Geniusofdespair

The Net Worth of the Candidates for Mayor:
Wilbur 'Short Stop' Bell - $4,088,482
Roosevelt Bradley - $1,424,922
Luther Campbell - $610,000
Jose 'Pepe' Cancio - $8,482,750
Carlos Gimenez - $923,323
Farid Khavari - $530,000
Jeffrey Lampert - $13,541
Eddie Lewis - $500,000 (no back up info)
Marcelo Llorente - $222,047
Gabrielle Redfern - $20,000
Julio Robaina - $8,000,000 + -

District 13 candidates:
Carlos Amaro - $359,500
Esteban 'Steve' Bovo - $25,898
Tania Castellanos - $365,000
Alan Rigerman - $528,000

District 7 candidates:
Julio Robaina TGO (The Good One) - $645,180
Xavier Suarez - $328,500

The big surprise, how little Luther Campbell has left after fighting/financing a free speech lawsuit all the way to the Supreme Court and a Bankruptcy. How much Julio Robaina has also took me by surprise. It is lucrative to be a deal-maker in Hialeah. How much did being Mayor help him on his road to riches is the big question. No doubt about it - he is a real estate developer, naming companies and properties on his financial report. (From the Department of Elections Website)

Is Esteban Bovo kidding? Or does he think we are so stupid that we'll believe his net worth is a little over $25,000? Doesn't he realize that we all know that his wife was Marco Rubio legislative assistant before and is, most likely, back at her old job. Besides, Bovo, a former Hialeah councilman was involved in the Marquito Children's Hospital lobbying contract. It's amazing to see how the shameless behave. Just look at the Donald! The role model for cheater, opportunist and phony talking from both sides of his mouth!

Julio inherited a fortune from his father.

Cancio and Hialeah Julio are multimillionaires, no more rich guys. Wilbur Bell, 4,000? I think not. He sold his successful business and has lots of land. His assets have to be worth more than 4,000. Either it is a typo or he is lying.

The last anon is a straight up liar. We all know Hialeah Julio has a larger pension that Gimenez. That's after Gimenez 30 years as a firefighter and Julio's 6 years as the Highest paid municipal mayor in the state of Florida. Julio also drives a Bentley, and spends most of his nights sleeping outside Hialeah, and in his Penthouse on Miami Beach. Fat Guy = Fat Life.

Pinocchio Julio needs to cmoe clean, for once!

The next person who puts up that Gimenez has more than one pension will be deleted it is not true. His pension is $126,810.

He does have an asset which is pension fund but it is not income in the amount of $140,998. It is like an IRA.

Roosevelt Bradley has $1,424,922? Are you kidding me? Does anyone believe that was obtained by lawful means?

Wilbur Bell has $4 million, I had a period rather than a comma.

I'll take a proven CEO over any of the other candidates for mayor. Cancio can make it happen for Miami-Dade!

You mean the Cement Man crying foul because he didn't get the LBA endorsement? What a joke Cancio is.

The LBA was exposed! Don't be upset at Canccio, he said what most people already know.

The more I read about him the more I like him. At the very least I think he would do the least damage in the 9 months before we get a new pool of candidates.

Damn.... Lampert should ask his buddy, ex-Mayor Alvarez, for a nice donation. He did support him to remain in office. Ask him. If he denies it he's another crony, if he admits it well why vote for him?

I hope the candidates campaign workers will quit posting here. It is getting boring.

Get use to it. They come out of the woodwork.

Will Cancio be a placeholder like he was in the BCC? Or, will greed/power get a hold of him like it does most of our local politicians (pls note, I said most not all).

The downside would be he'd agree not to then change his mind, run and it would be too late!

As to Bovo, Pizzi is supporting/endorsing him. I like Pizzi but don't like the endorsement. He was better off leaving it alone and staying out of it, though he's entitled to his opinion.

I just have to wonder if there's some back door dealings going on we are not aware of.

Is the County Commission race supposed to be non-partisan?
Julio (the good one) Robaina has some stuff on his facebook page that look like campaign posters advertising Republican for County Commission.
Doesn't sit well with me and I was planning on sending him a check.

How appropriate on this blog that my word verification is Lies?
