Miami Herald: Fred Grimm And Daniel Roth Shoer Worth a Read. By Geniusofdespair

Fred Grimm's Column, Charter reforms a study in tone deafness is funny and, sadly, true. He said:

The county commissioners heard the wrathful voice of the voter. The message was plenty clear. “Give yourself an $86,097 raise, dammit!”

On another page, El Nuevo Herald Reporter, Daniel Roth Shoer tags Rick Scott, our imperial teabag Governor, as a fundamentalist:

Florida is on its way to fundamentalism. Gov. Rick Scott and some of our ultraconservative legislators are determined to get there despite the human cost. On the one hand, they aspire to minimize the government’s involvement in people’s life in crucial areas like public education and social services for those in need. On the other hand, they support the government’s meddling in Florida residents’ personal decisions.

Can we come up with a good nickname for this guy?

Both of these articles were so spot on as to both our local political climate and at the State level.

I'm not sure what it's going to take to get the politicians to listen to us, because they really aren't, or they're lobbyist handlers are convincing them the voters/taxpayers don't know anything.

How about "The Honorable" or "Governor" instead of "Imperial Teabag". He was duly elected by the people of this state and if you don't respect the man, at least show some respect for the office he was elected to.

Your use of the word teabag when describing this politician you are vehemently opposed to belies and is in direct contravention to the umbrage you take any time someone comes at you for your political/environmental views.

Lighten up, Francis!

I had to look through a 9 hour video and listen to testimony AGAIN in favor of the ball park funding deal to write my Julio post. Cut me some slack David.

I will never recognize Rick Scott for anything good. I didn't vote for him and I don't support him. I don't care if I was the lone vote against him, he still isn't your honor to me, I don't like the guy. And yes David, I am sick of some of the comments and will not post them. If you want to write something favorable about the governor go to another blog. This isn't a democracy on this blog. That is my perk for writing for free to take off dumb ass bullshit. MY VIEW OF WHAT DUMB ASS BULLSHIT IS. And who is Francis? Email me because I assume I am going to dump your comment.

David, you're right. Scott was duly elected by the people of Florida
...after spending $75 million of his own personal wealth;
...which he obtained by ripping Medicare off (ie taxpayers) to the tune of billions of dollars;
...for which he was basically fired from his CEO position by his board with a sweet golden parachute once Columbia received the largest Medicare-fraud fine in US history;
...and with that windfall, puchased the Governor's mansion and now seeks to fray the social safety net (education, child welfare, public protection, job training, Medicaid, etc.);
...all so we can have corporate tax cuts and reforms that will benefit...wait for it..the Rick Scotts of the world.

This "Francis" agrees with experts, Rick Scott's a scumbag (although a duly elected, err respectable one...I guess).

Well, David, I call the governor Prick Cock because that's what he is. He doesn't DESERVE my respect, and neither do the people who voted for him. Nor does the office itself if it's for sale to the highest bidder.

"Lighten up, Francis" is from the Bill Murray movie "Stripes". It is used to show humorous disdain to the threats from a psychopath. How can you be so obtuse?

I am lacking intellect because I don't know a Bill Murray movie? Putz.

I really thought "Twicky Wik" would have legs after he started twittering.

As to this remark: "...vehemently opposed to belies and is in direct contravention to the umbrage"

I read it while using an English accent (in my head). Beautiful use of words. However, I cannot bring myself to respect him. Sorry, David.
