M & M Liquors in Hialeah is Not too Fond of Natacha Seijas. By Geniusofdespair

The Miami Herald had a good article Saturday on the "What If" both Seijas and Alvarez are recalled. Haggman reported:

If the electorate votes to recall Alvarez and Seijas on Tuesday, each would be out of office the moment the ballots are certified by the county canvassing board. The three-member board is made up of Supervisor of Elections Lester Sola, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Shelley J. Kravitz and County Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson. Certifying the results isn’t a long process, generally taking a couple of days.

I can't see it taking that long if it is a landslide. I differ with the Herald on the timeline the Charter says: The question of recall shall be placed on the ballot in a manner that will give the elector a clear choice for or against the recall. The result shall be determined by a majority vote of the electors voting on the question. If the majority is for recall he shall, regardless of any defect in the recall petition, be deemed removed from office immediately.

The Herald also said:

Under the county charter, commissioners would have 30 days from the election’s certification either to appoint a new mayor, who would serve until the next countywide election – which would likely be the presidential primary in early 2012 – or to call for a special election that would have to be held in the ensuing 45 days. There could be a runoff election after that. (If Seijas is recalled, her seat also would be filled by either commission appointment or special election.)

If you live in Hialeah or Miami Lakes vote tomorrow: Yes to recall Natacha Seijas! You must vote, and get your family and friends to vote.

TUESDAY COULDN'T COME QUICK ENOUGH

Then to push for "Term Limits" and mucho campaign reform. There are some honest, ethical people out there who could run if a good salary was offered.

I'd be surprised if the cops didn't show up there to harass the owners, or code enforcement.

That store, however, is my new favorite! They are brave.

I hope the majority of the BCC does not approve VNS' new $250K taxpayer spending binge. Whoever votes yes on this, should be next in line for a recall!

The majority of the BCC just makes me puke. They spend OUR money like it's theirs, without any concern for us "citizens".

One day when I grow up, I want to be a public employee and get their salary's and benefits!

OMG, I would never have skin thick enough to run for office. Despite all that is said about her and/or if it is justified, it must really be terrible to be her this week.

I don't appreciate the money giving thing. I hope the Commissioners vote this down.

I visit my mom in Hialeah often and pass the M & M liquor store. The owner is a hoot. He's commented on Sarah Palin, Raul Martinez, Lincoln Diaz Balart, Marco Rubio, David Rivera, George Bush and others. He's very talented and funny.
And I would not want to be Natacha this week either.
Nice Photo EOM!

This liqour store is near a friends house and anon. a few above is right - the sign changes frequently and is a hoot and most of the time clever - the owners are great guys (brothers)) and definitely on the common sense side of political theatre.
