Yes, I might go down to the County Commission Chamber just to hear first-hand how this debate works out. You really need to be there, to get the full atmospherics. It should be an excellent chance to see your government inaction and VNS blow a few gaskets.

Bell is not on the committee reader above so she won't vote on it on the 12th. It is doubtful they will get a second so the commission will not vote on these.

The term limit language proposed by the disingenuous Mr. Gimenez would make every member up for election in 2012, including himself if he was not running for Mayor, ineligible to seek re-election. Putting up stupid shut like that for a vote is a foolish gambit to look like a non-member of the BCC. Another loser moment for the valiant Mr. Gimenez.
Genius, one of the things I really admire in you -- other than your obvious honesty and ethics -- is your innocence. You are, indeed, an innocent. Gimenez, if you hear him on Spanish radio -- precisely La Poderosa, because he plays a different game with Marta Flores, in Radio Mambi -- is actually working towards becoming the next Miami-Dade County mayor. He's part of the whole Sodom and Gomorrah scene -- although, he's part of the Sodom group, okay? -- and this group knows how to play the stupid voters, and they play them as if they were violins. There are times when you see a politician attacking another one, but it's all a ploy. In fact, they might both be part of the same cozy group, and the public repartee is strictly for public consumption! Gimenez is one of the experts in the development of a clean image, when almost everyone on that government body --the county commission -- is so damned dirty! No one can truly imagine the layers of corruption that exist in our local and state governments.
I agree with Anon above. Jimenez is part of the problem. Doesn’t stand and fight. Walks out of key meetings to avoid voting or standing his ground, like voters would expect him to do. Then he goes to Cuban radio to criticize and pontificate about what he would have done, bla, bla. Nice lip service Jimenez.
Jimenez doesn’t stay and fight nor does he have the leadership and persuasion skills to recruit other commissioners to join his efforts. In other words. Useless… except for lip service.

It is irresponsible for Martinez to have appointed Bell, a commissioner with little experience on the bcc, as a chair. Let's hold it against him in the Mayoral election.
Bell was very busy in Tallahassee at the Scott fest. I wonder who picked up the tab for her trip and the event tickets? I don't know how she has time for the BCC with her conservative conferences as well. I'm actually hoping she takes a position in the Scott administration so we can get a non hillbilly representing Dist. 8.

Allow me to enlighten you: At present, I'm no longer working for politicians, I don't need to, but even if I did, I wouldn't work for anyone looking to run for any political seat. It's too bad that you can't see clearly, and this is exactly what constantly happens in this city. I can remember when an individual who conducts a political program in one of the Spanish radio stations told me that he was going to support Carlos Alvarez, and I told him to go ahead, that it was the same as supporting Penelas. Homesteads milliage rate was out of control when she was mayor. She allowed her city manger to hire all his girlfriends and pay them 6 figure salaries for doing nothing. She fired whole city depts and farmed those local jobs out to firms in Hialeah and sweetwater. She awarded no bid contracts to her friends,relatives of employees and made a mess of the CRA.
