Miami Art Museum Controversy on WLRN ... by gimleteye
Tune in at 1 PM Tuesday, December 28, WLRN Radio, (91.3 FM) Tropical Current features the lawsuit working it's way through state court on the charge that placing Miami Art Museum in Bicentennial Park violates Miami ordinances. Guests include Linda Carroll, the attorney representing resident Elvis Cruz and Miami Neighborhoods United, and Aaron Podhurst, chair of the board of the Miami Art Museum. Steve Hagen, active on the Parks & Public Space Committee of Miami Neighborhoods United will add perspective as to how our limited parks in Miami need to be preserved by ordinance and expanded, not used as construction zones. Who will be able to get to the Museum anyway from that idiotic single lane eastbound exit? It's another episode in the great Miami clusterf@#k. Does the Miami Art Museum have a Romero Britto Wing? Miami Art Museum is broke. In fact, MAM probably owes over $10 MILLION to various creditors. MAM has no collection and it has no endowment.
Someone should pull the plug on this disaster.
PAC Center fiasco? $240 Mil budget and no parking? Over $1 Bil actual costs? Massive opearting losses covered by taxpayers, as usual. Who can afford to attend?
MAM is another pending $1 BILLION disaster. Cost overruns. Broke museum. $10 Mil per year projected operating losses, annually?
Taxpayers get screwed again.
No Collection No Endowment Museum Art Museum demands to take up to 8 eights of waterfront Bicentennial Park diverted to the two broke museums. What ever happened to the concept of waterfront parks for grass and people? When did massive concrete money losing structures become a good idea?
Broke Miam Art Museum wants up to 8acres of Bicentennial Park.
Isn't it true that no one ever visits Miami Art Museum? Why bother?
Miami Art Museum is broke. How much does MAM owe? $12 Mil?
