What I will be doing today and tomorrow...By Geniusofdespair

Besides voting again, I am going to collect signatures to recall certain County Commissioners and then I am going to a victory party or two today. But in all honesty, I will spend a good part of Tuesday and Wednesday in utter despair and/or in a state of crankiness.

One last appeal for Alex Sink: Your vote will not be meaningless for Governor. The Governor appoints on all boards — such as the South Florida Water Management District. That board is important to growth management if Amendment 4 does not pass. The SFWMD has stopped many bad developments with Crist's smart appointees. I shudder to think of what Scott will do with those appointments since he is intent on dismantling the growth management agency —DCA. This is why I like Crist so much -- pretty good appointments and he put Tom Pelham as head of Department of Community Affairs.

If it's any consolation, I'll be crying too.

I've been cranky now for the last three days.

I don't want to think so I'm going to clean my house. Out, damned spot!

Look up! Things may not be as they appear to be. Have faith in the voters. Elections are combinations of hard work, strategy, money, mobilization, and pure luck. Crist may just pull this out. And Sink is on course to win. We may win some, and may lose some. This is the nature of electoral politics. We have NO time to cry. Whatever happens, to have better outcomes in the future, we begin the next election tomorrow along with mitigation efforts. The system has tremendous built-in inertia. So look up, this is a democracy!

Don't forget that cabinet positions have the final say in disputed land-use changes. We need people like Sink and Gelber who will consider long-term consequences of land-use decisions. I am hoping Gelber goes after corrupt politicians; Bondi won't. She is busy going after Obama.

Good point about the cabinet.

I've never been so disgusted, and to increase my sense of despair, Alex Sink just jumped out of the race and declared the Medicare thief head of state in Florida. Ugh! The problem with the Democratic Party is that they treat this nation as if it were composed of intelligent, thinking people. In fact, what they are dealing with is a country of morons that only concerns itself with superficial crap, LIKE THIS BRAINLESS EXERCISE, CALLED "DANCING WITH THE STARS". And where is Miguel Diaz de la Portilla? Did he win? Did he drop from the race? If he dropped, he might be saving himself for the upcoming Miami-Dade mayoral election. That is really what he wants to be because that's where he will better serve the self interest groups that appeal to him. And he has already positioned himself to be Norman Braman's candidate; he probably feels that Braman's money and endorsement will be the magic formula that will finally crown him the next Miami-Dade king... isn't that what they turn out to be once they've been sworn? Sadly, last night's results remind me of the Mussolini speech, where called the Italian people, "Poppolo bue," -- cattle country.
