County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez tried to get some Charter Changes through Committee but guess what, no one was biting.
Gimenez wrote an OpEd in the Miami Herald yesterday about his attempt to ease petition drive restrictions and impose term limits on the county commission:
Thomas Jefferson also said, ``When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.'' A little fear by elected officials is a good thing every now and then.
This community is expecting, and demanding, reform. Unfortunately, commissioners are still not listening.
At least someone gets it on the County Commission but he couldn't even get a second. I assume he is now getting the cold stares from the others.

It couldn't get any colder for Gimenez.
If he runs for mayor, it may be warm for him at the polls.
He is running and he is the guy to beat.
I think that is exactly the point. We have finally gotten to a place where real change can happen here. Recalls galore, incumbent losing for the first time since '94. A Commissioner who gets it, and who also happened to run a government himself, leaving it in its best fiscal condition in its long history. Times are a changing, whether they like it or not!
Times are changing for the worse in south dade. We are as dumb as the people who keep re-electing the unreformable majority. We just never had an opportunity to show how dumb till we elected VNB.
I LOVE MIGHTY MOUSE!!! He was my first love (crush).
...for real!!!!
