Ana Rivas Logan's Campaign Report by Geniusofdespair

It was on March 30th when I endorsed Millie Herrera for Florida House District 114. Millie's opponent Ana Rivas Logan ducked out from the school board, before the vote against SB 6, trying to dodge a bullet. We all knew what she was up to so the bullet hit its mark. She didn't support teachers on that one. Till this day she says, I don't know how I would have voted. LOSER, how could you not know when you are on the school board? Brian Peterson, a Florida International University professor who edits The Miami Education Review newsletter gave an opinion on her no-show: "She's in alliance with the conservative Republicans who advocated for Senate Bill 6, but she depends on people associated with the public schools for votes." Ana wears a scarlet letter for that one.

Then she defended her vote raising taxes even after being informed that voting for the proposed millage rate for 2005-06 would raise property taxes by 14.96%.

Most interesting about her are the donations to her campaign, what a crew on her report, there are the all self-important consultants like Rodney Barreto and Ron Book and the Controversial Wren Group:

All it takes is one candidate who is serious about serving the public interest, to rile up all the lobbyists and insiders: they're like flies and they know exactly who they are and why they do, what they do. Anyone still need to argue against campaign finance reform?

Kelly is Vicky's sister. She works for Ron Book.

Who is the Wren Group?

WREN GROUP 1/29/2010
Yesterday, we learned of the federal indictment of a former Miami-Dade county official -- Frank Bernardino-- whose career qualifications make him a charter member of the Growth Machine. Mr. Bernardino: "Coordinated the development of wetland resource inventories associated with the Miami-Dade Lake Belt Plan", and "Provided staff support to the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Dept. in support of the construction of the West Dade Wellfield", and, "Prepared wetland basin inventories in support of amendments to the Miami-Dade Comprehensive Development Master Plan". Mr. Bernardino, a founder of the lobbyist Wren Group, was nabbed in Jacksonville, Florida and appeared in court in handcuffs. "Former Jacksonville Port Authority board chairman Tony Nelson was in court this morning to answer to a 44-count indictment (.pdf, 1.5MB) charging him with conspiracy, money laundering, mail fraud, bribery and making a false statement to the FBI. The indictment was unsealed today after nearly four years of investigation by the FBI. Lobbyist Frank Bernardino, who formerly worked for the South Florida Water Management District, was indicted with Nelson and also appeared before U.S. Magistrate Howard Snyder. Bernardino faces 36 criminal counts." Among Mr. Bernardino's clients, Big Sugar's Florida Crystals Corporation.

VIcky as in the Mayor's Vicky? OMG. That's scary. Vicky seems like a good person, but every time I turn around, the lobbyists and special interests are growing as if like slime on wet walls. Honestly, people, we need to have a major get out the vote initiative going on here...something that is not attached to acorn. It's time to take back the county.

Guess I understand now why the teachers union is recommending a no vote on Amendment 4, and Ana Rivas Logan is endorsed by them.

District 114 - vote for Millie Herrera and vote Yes on Amendment 4.

P.S. No, I am not related to Millie, but know that she will do her best for all citizens of Miami-Dade. Vote for the person! Vote for the issues!

People think about this: anytime an amendment has lots of money being thrown at defeating it,it is goring someone's ox.

Vote yes on 4

Rivas-Logan's got to go. She's been practicing her right-wing agenda on our children, masquerading as a school board member. She's not to be trusted. Neither is they guy she wants to take her board seat, Carlos Curbelo. It'll just be more of the same. He knows zero about education, has never taken a child to school, but wants to run for higher office and wants two years of free TV time.

It's time voters reclaim West Kendall. Vote for Millie Herrera for House District 114 and the PTA Mom Libby Perez for School Board District 7. Libby will support teachers!

Rivas-Logan and Lynda Bell are best friends, seriously!!!

When Lynda ran for re-election, Rivas-Logan sat a voting poll, held Lynda's sign, rang her bell, and told the public lie after lie.

Voters Beware.

Rivas-Logan is a pretty filly with an empty head. Vote Millie.
