The Miami Herald reported on County Commissioner Dorrin Rolle 8/11:
"During his 16 years at JESCA's helm, federal and county funding was squandered...Retirement contributions were diverted."
You know the County hardly cares when our tax dollars are squandered but Rolle also squandered FEDERAL money. The Feds care a bit more than our loose-goose County. And, worse than the squandered money, JESCA diverted retirement contributions. That is pretty much illegal isn't it? The Herald calls these "ethical questions" exactly when does it cross the line into criminal Miami Herald? If any of you diverted your employee's retirement contributions, you would be arrested in an instant. Lawyers out there??
I wonder if you can use campaign money for legal defense? Do us a favor District 2, don't vote for Dorrin. Mack Samuel and Jean Monestime are good alternative candidates.

Rolle's glossy campaign flyer that arrived in the mail last week listed every single union in Dade county as endorsing him. So you have a corrupt and thieving Commissioner and all the Unions are endorsing him?? What?? Just say no to Rolle!
Unions wonder why the common folk have turned against them. This Rolle election is a prime example. You have to use discretion unions. The guy totally sucks. Don't you get it? You are contributing to the dysfunction with selfish behavior. You sell the rest of us down the river for a few more dollars in your pocket. That will not garner support for your cause.
Unions Supporting corrupt politicians is nothing new as a matter of fact its the rule rather than the exception.
I have always argued against the existence of government employee unions precisely because those that are suupposedly negotiating on the peoples behalf count on those same unions to get elected. Meaning the taxpayers get it up the tush.
Even if the Ghetto Gubner is convicted of a crime by the time he gets thru removing his bling in order to be taken into custody his sentence will have expired.
Remember G.O.D. I gots protection til end of da month.
I remember. How about working on Sig in the Park's post yesterday? Maybe we can educate him.
Not every union supported Rolle this year. The firefighters went with Celestin. It's not because Rolle hasn't been there as with the other unions, it's because of the firefighter's image compared to that of Dorrin Rolle. Not all unions are the same.
This election will be won on the streets, not on the web or in the newspaper. If the candidates have done their work, they have a chance. If not they will be toast, cause Rolle is an expert at getting the vote in his district.
I'm always wary of candidates who tout their big Union endorsements. Take the District 8 Commission Race.
The Unions blindly and very undemocratically endorsed Annette Taddeo for the Commission without even giving the rest of the candidates, either Democrat or Republican any chance to present their respective cases.
Mafia Style - "There, here's OUR choice and like it!"
Just because of that, I will not only vote against Taddeo but I will also vote for any candidate that DOES NOT get a Union endorsement in the future!
These strong-arm "thug" tactics do not work with me!
The unions are important because not only would their members and their families vote for you and in some cases provide money, but they also provide a workforce of volunteers to campaign for you. Depending on the size of the union and the size of the race, that could be 10s, 100s, or 1,000s of volunteers. So their endorsement could play a very important role in some elections.
This guy is one discretionary funded barbecue away from another term.
"The firefighters went with Celestin" - Celestin, given the opportunity, would exceed the "badness" of Rolle.
Yes the unions help candidates... But many are bad candidates. Joe Celestin could actually be worse than Rolle. Do your homework.
When Rolle was ruining the James Scott Center and Miami-Dade County he was driving a $125,000 12 cylinder Mercedes.
What is he driving now?
