The lobbyist class was down in its cups at the campaign headquarters of Bill McCullom last night. To run competitively against the ultra deep pockets of health care magnate, Rick Scott, McCullom needed every lobbyist dollar he could find. The special interests rushed to his side. They had everything to gain and they lost. Now what?
Rick Scott can run competitively against Sink, without the lobbying class. Still, and most importantly, he needs enough independents and Democrats to defeat the former St. Pete banker, Alex Sink. Wherever Sink is most vulnerable is where Scott should plant his campaign. Where is Sink most vulnerable as a former financier of development run amok? Amendment 4, the November referendum that would return the choice of changing community land use plans back to local voters.
Sink has avoided Amendment 4 like the plague. It is no wonder, why. From the Chamber of Commerce to Lennar and other large production homebuilders, to the shill for land speculators, Associated Industries, opposition to Amendment 4 has drawn tens of millions of dollars. But Amendment 4 is energizing millions of voters who are sick and tired of the insider dealing and the development Wrecking Crew that drove the economy off the rails.
Isn't limiting the power of government-- especially the abuses of excessive authority-- a cornerstone of conservative values? Alex Sink doesn't have the courage to stand up for Amendment 4. Does Rick Scott?

People had better get behind Alex Sink with checks because this guy Scott would be out worst nightmare.
Not saying she hasn't been a huge disappointment on issues close to our heart. I am just more afraid of Scott.
You might as well call Alex Sink Governor.
I am a proud Republican but I WILL NOT vote for a defrauder of Medicaid and Medicare. Granted, McCollum was not an exciting candidate, but I and a helloava lot more Republican voters will be leaving the race for Governor blank when we go vote this November.
AND WE WILL BE GOING TO THE POLLS in NOVEMBER!
I emailed the Alex Sink campaign to ask why she wasn't supporting Amendment 4. I got no reply but have been bombarded with emails asking for donations to her campaign since then. So the answer to why she isn't supporting Amendment 4 is $$$ !
Alex Sinks' campaign said this:
"State Chief Financial Officer and gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink, for example, doesn’t think it’s such a good idea.
Her people issued the following statement on her behalf:
“Alex Sink opposed this proposal in 2006 and she opposes the 2010 amendment, because she believes that in our system of government we entrust our local leaders to make these difficult decisions, and if we are unhappy with their decisions we have the ability to elect someone new.”
Now, Alex Sink should know better. This statement alone shows she should not be governor.
Chiles is looking better and better.
Chiles can't win and you will just be splitting the vote which would allow Scott to slide in if you vote for him.
Doesn't it make you wonder why Chiles (who grew up in the political world and knows the routine) waited to the last second to file?
As someone that works in the medical field, I don't know how Scott stayed out jail on the Medicaid fraud. If me or anyone of co-workers did that, we would be called a criminal.
Save that tiger!!!
