Very surprised to see both David Lawrence with a fat $500 check and Haitian Activist Gepsie Metellus giving $250. Not surprised to see the Latin Builder's Association PAC giving $500. Worth noting: Lobbyists Neisen Kasdin, Balsera Communication, and the dreaded Jeff Bercow's law firm all were donors. Also giving were the the Florida Marlins and separately David Sampson of the Marlins. Piedra is using Dario Moreno and Davenya Armstrong as consultants on his campaign.
There were a few developers but none of the well known ones, maybe because some of them are too busy propping up or defaulting on their loans. He is second place in fundraising. $109,590.00

Whenever a candidate like Piedra --so popular among those who are at risk of sweating blood if they can't manage to move the UDB -- doesn't show the names of the pre-sweating parties among their campaign contributors, it doesn't really mean that those individuals are absent from the fund raising effort. All the contrary! It's a game that constantly repeats itself because the players don't bother to change their strategy -- even when they've been the subjects of federal probes.
The old "give me a check in Obdulio's name, and here's the cash" game is afoot... and we don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to realize what's happening!
Herald Lawrence always turned to face the developers and bankers.
He needed them for his charity projects... the homeless.
You mean, the charity projects that don't touch the bottom line, like any of those involving any kind of challenge to the builders and engineers. It's the Alvah way.
