My Summer Vacation: Every Picture Tells a Story. By Geniusofdespair

Depressed to be home? You betcha'. I read through a bunch of Miami Herald newspapers and I was back to being the malcontent you all know and, maybe, love. I just don't know how much longer I can write about the miserable underbelly of Miami without having my head implode, it has been a lot of years now. Anyway, I thought I would share my favorite photos from my trip, ahhh...the good memories will have to sustain my sanity for awhile:

Here is a food line in East Harlem. Note the guy with the stool and newspaper. I was eating good pizza at Patsy's (there since 1933) across the street watching the line not move.

This is the Hop On - Hop Off tour bus that hit our rental car in front of Penn Station. The guy driving didn't speak English: Chinese. That's a switch. If his bus wasn't attached to our car, he would have driven off because the people baking in the sun atop the tour bus were mighty restless - as you can see. (hit read more)

These are my niece's beauty pageant crowns. There were more even larger ones but they fell off the shelf during this photo shoot. Apparently they give you a crown when you participate, even if you don't win, or maybe you have to win, I really don't get the drill. Honestly, I was not a good listener because I don't find beauty pageants a suitable topic for conversation...or much else.

Big mistake driving a rental car trough the streets of NY. THey have the best subway system in the world. Park the car in NJ and ride the subway!

Was the Rental a Hybrid? Bet you those folks in the food lines methane production is low, at least they're doing their part to save the ozone while your stuffing your face with Pizza.

G.O.D. since your back I ripped the Drill baby drill bumper sticker off my SUV, started shopping for a smart car, turned my thermostat back up to 78 and will be voting for E.O.M. endorsed candidates.

Leaving the car in Jersey is not such a good idea you'll probably end up splaining how a dead body ended up in your trunk.

Welcome Back
Now get back to saving Miami!(your eternal punishment)

And remember, Cato, he was a Socialist.

I was at the District 8 Forum tonight at the Pinecrest Library. All of the candidates were in attendance. Two observations:

Taddeo didn't answer a single question correctly!

Albert was selling his GREEN house every chance he had.

Conclusion: Bell was by far the best candidate at tonight's forum.

Taddeo knows little about the County or County Hall. She cannot win on her own, so her campaign is attacking other candidates. Bell will win if this keeps up.

WOW Tadedeo, Bell amd Harum spilled over into this topic, that nasty channel 41 cameraman must have pushed them in here.

ANON As for Cato being a socialist which Cato?
Cato the elder? Cato? the 18th century dudes that used Cato as a psuedonym? Cato of Pink Panther fame? Cato Katlin? or Cato my German Shepperd.

I have always suspected the latter since he eats me out of house and home , sleeps most of the day and seems intent on screwing other dogs.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yes but there is good piZza in Harlem. I would go anywhere for a decent slice and I am surely not going to find one in Miami.

On your next pizzapalooza, Harlem also has the best little bookstore in the world, Jumel Terrace Books on 160th Street.

That is pretty far uptown...next time I go to Yankee Stadium or the Cloisters. I will have to make a stop. Thanks.
