LBA Endorsement In District 8. Guest blog by Machado

Well, the endorsements are out. I guess I was not at all surprised that Obdulio Piedra was endorsed by the Latin Builders Association.

I was however most disappointed when I was told that Obdulio requested that the LBA not disclose his endorsement to the voters of District 8.

Perhaps his reason was that he didn't want voters to know where he stands on major development, the UDB and other key issues such as his position to support things like Florida Power & Light's power line expansion.

Apparently, he only wants the news of his endorsement to be secretly given to LBA members, just to help fundraising.

I'm thinking, we all know he is a banker, one we would hope we could trust not to hide information. Is he a wolf county commissioner wannabe in sheep's clothing?

Anyone reading this blog and following the Dist. 8 race knows how he's been pandering to the LBA since day 1.

What is surprising is that he didn't want to make it public. That say's a lot about his character, and not in a good way.

During a recent forum he used the phrase "economic prosperity" to justify moving the UDB. That is code for using temporary construction jobs as justification for more "build baby build."

Where is teh campaign report for El Bell ?

He has suggested several times at recent that he would move the line for the sake of the economy. I guess the LBA isn't finished destroying Dade.

Does anyone know why the rest of the Dist. 8 candidates financials are not posted yet? Were Gene & Danny the only two to get their's in on time?

To me, that's very suspect and worth a very good, hard look when they eventually post them.

If the reports were timely mailed out by the due date of July 23, they will probably be posted by tomorrow. Its a 2 step process with the county; electronic transmission first, then a hand delivered or mailed hard copy second.
There is nothing evil or sinister here because they are not posted yet.

Well, from what I understand, the electronic filing is usually posted within minutes of it being submitted. They all had to file electronically. Then, the original is mailed, which would be the 2nd step. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong here, but I don't think I am. Or, the fab four who haven't posted yet on Voter Focus would rather pay the $50 per day fine for the first three days the reports are late. It get's much costlier after that.

you are wrong. reports are posted when signed copies are received.

I agree with others. He was very forthcoming in saying that we might have to start building again to stimulate the economy. That seems to be his take, and I guess developers could take that to the bank.

Obdulio, Lynda Bell, Albert Harum-Alvarez and Daniel "Danny" Marmorstein all went to the LBA screening. So I guess those four were all seeking the LBA endorsement.

Yea, but Obdulio asking the LBA NOT to publicly issue their endorsement for his campaign is pretty sinister and underhanded.

I was seriously considering his candidacy. I guess I have more shopping to do.

Genius, what is your problem with the LBA? Do you have an issue with economic prosperity? Don't you realize that the LBA was comprised of Developers, Bankers, Architects, Real Estate Agents, Engineers, Trade Workers, etc. That these same individuals employed thousands of people that lived, breathed Miami.

If you have such an issue, could you please provide another solution that will increase an economic footprint and create jobs! I am so tired of people complaining and pointing out the problems. Try providing a solution. Try standing up for what you belive in and actually becoming a solution to the very same problem that you dictate day after day!

Reader above: I did not write this blog ask Macado if he-she has a problem with the LBA.

C'mon, Genius, we all know you hate the LBA. You've made your position known for quite some time. Please don't backtrack now.

All they want to do is build-us into "prosperity" - the hell with the UDB and the Everglades!

Now is not the time to go "woobly", Genuis.

I said I did not write this post. Refer to the LBA on one of my posts...
will discuss it there.

Haters: Does the LBA buid differently than the folks at the BASF? Gene Flyn got a check from the BASF and nobody is saying anything.
Is this the KKK blog? Keep up the racism.

pretty obvious that the trash talker is involved in the LBA, very sad that they speak with anonymity.

He is a putz.

I smell latin haters on this blog. Why hasn't anyone questioned Flynn's involvement with BASF? Why do you only question Piedra and LBA? The same folks go to both. Guess they're not Kin Folk.

Latin Haters? Call Julio Robaina or Whilly Bermudez. Ask them if there are Latin Haters on this blog. You seem to hate Latins picking on Carlos' son.
