Here are 2 example of Campaign Contributions I Hate. By Geniusofdespair

All you novice campaign report analysts picking apart the District 8 contributions, there is more to it. Here is a tip: look for the multiples and look at addresses. Below is what I consider a campaign contribution that bothers the hell out of me because we all know the limit is $500. I found this on County Commissioner Dorrin Rolle's report:

Why does it bother me? Coincidentally, the county gave Michael Adler's company, AA Acquisitions, a 240-acre, 70-year lease at Opa-locka airport. He appears thankful to Dorrin Rolle. Below is another thankful group, Dorrin Delano Rolle is now up to $226,610 because so many people are thankful and want to support him. This one also bothers me big-time and I think you all can figure out why:

This is the kind of stuff that should alarm you. Not just a $500 donation from a nasty person.

Unfortunately for us, we won't know who is capable of taking payback donations such as these because none of them have done anything yet.

Also remember, they give to each other because they are not able to give more than $500. I think the power brokers get together and arrange that too. The bottom line...the more out of area zip codes, the more compromised a person is.

thanks eye on miami. we needed this.

As opposed to too many contributions that came from out of the District.

I wonder what special interest or interests they represent? What, you couldn't get enough contributions from the residents of the district you want to represent? I wonder why?

Thanks Annie for selling out!

Don't call her Annie, it is not her name.

I have contributed to people outside my district. In fact, I gave to one District 8 candidate because he is opposing my ex-mayor and I can't tolerate the idea of her winning.

So, that makes my candidate of choice suspect to taking money from the dais? I don't think so. I would not have given any money to anyone whom I felt would steal.

Even though this is a district election, the winner will represent my interests as well. The only way I can vote is with my check.

Why doesn't the Elections Department investigate these contributions?

Jeffrey Loria lives in New York City with David Samson.

Contributions are payback for Rolle's votes to bailout the Marlins? Right?

You must connect your own dots last poster...

I connected some dots with Taddeo's, there were a group of attorney's who represent Palmer Trinity with the same law firm but used their home addresses.

Ackerman (representing BP) gave along with Michael Abrams (who is a lobbyist for them). It's the same thing, so, by using different addresses, it wouldn't alarm someone unless they knew who the players were affiliated with.

I bet I'll find more of these connection related, deliberatly using different addresses to not set off any alarms.

And, Adler and his company gave to her as well.

Looking at campaign repots is time consuming . You have to have sunbiz open to check on donations... A knowledge of power brokers is helpful. A donation from a different state might just mean you have a relative there willing to support you. Lots of small grassroots donations are wonderful but they won't win you the election...unfortunately.

Many of these lawfirms give blindly to any Democratic candidate.

I don't see individuals putting their money where their mouths are.

Last anon, that's why grass root campaigns are so difficult. That's not where the money is - it's with the power brokers. It's very sad. But, hopefully, Dist. 8 will defy the norm and support the best candidate - not the best funded candidate. The best candidate, for me, is someone who has been active in Dist. 8 at a local level.

Stop whining. It's representative democracy.

Representative of whom?

Representative of those who go to vote.

Also, one thing to consider is the fact that Taddeo is hitting the only contacts she can rely on - the same folks who gave to her Congressional campaign 2 years ago.

That explains the national defense contractor giving to her THIS YEAR. I mean why else would a defense contractor donate to a county commission race?

Its an expectation that she will be going after bigger fish in the future. And the best time to run for Congress is when the new district lines come into effect - 2012.

You should see Mayor of Hialeah's Julio Robaina's political campaign donations. I heard him on a Spanish radio station talking about the 220 acres of Hialeah Park that are just there.

Hialeah Park is STILL endangered!
