Orlando Sentinel Mike Thomas: Gulf Oil Spill, this photo is for you ... by gimleteye
"Some places, like Alaska's Bristol Bay, are too precious, too unique and too valuable to allow drilling except in a national energy crisis. The deep waters off the Gulf of Mexico hardly fall into this category. It's nothing but an undersea desert out there. But you'd hardly know it listening to the worn-out, hysterical screeching about oil-stained shores destroying the environment and the economy." Mike Thomas, April 23, 2009, Orlando Sentinel
Have a great weekend, Mike. Keep your channel tuned to Pensacola if you are watching.

You know, do Floridians realize that this oil was always going to come our way? This stuff is going to go right up the east coast. They are talking about it on the news like they are surprised. It kills me.
yes, the chickens are coming home to roost. it's just too bad it has to be at the expense of herons and egrets and pelicans and spoonbills and the like. saw a great photo of a black skimmer skimming the surface (or at least trying to) off Louisiana, kind of said it all. keep your fingers and everything else crossed.
I can't bear to see this and similar photos; it's heart-wrenching, tears well up in my eyes. I feel so violated. They have ruined our earth, killed and continue killing our wildlife, our ocean life. We will never be the same again.
I don't want to hear that all this is our fault. We have no control of the bad choices of our elected government, including Senates and Reps / Congress, and their hidden motivations that charge their choices.
All I know is that we are murdering God's creatures, destroying his gift of earth, as well as killing ourselves and our children in this process in the name of WHAT?
