My fellow blogger, Alan Farago, will be honored at the Tropical Audubon Society Annual Meeting at the Doc Thomas house in South Miami. Always a friendly crowd, try to make it. Special speakers/guests include Reporter Craig Pittman from the St. Pete Times and Eric Buermann, Chair of the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Also to be honored is biologist Gary Milano.

Congratulations to Alan ... you both do a great job here at Eye. :-)
Congrats. I saw your 4 parrots flying over downtown South Miami a couple of days ago.
They're still hanging around.

I will finally get to meet Alan/Gimleteye...will be there for that.
Congrats! Well-deserved.
Congratulations especially to Gary Milano, who is one of South Florida's greatest, yet mostly unsung, environmental heroes. He has worked for years as a restoration biologist for DERM, converting 100's of acres of trashed land into viable natural areas, while wringing every last ounce of value out of every public dollar spent. Gary is extremely well-respected among his peers and is also a hell of a nice guy.
people commit for various reasons. Alan does his work because he loves it and appreciates the special natural resources of south FL. Keep up the good work
