Update: On My Earlier Post on Rolle and The Public Health Trust. By Geniusofdespair

I said 3 ideas for a board to oversee the Public Health Trust were being floated at the County Commission today. According to the Miami Herald:

Commissioners said they supported instead the idea of a ''management watch'' in which the county would closely watch the public health system but not at this time interfere with its Public Health Trust.

That sounds pretty dumb. Par for the course.

It seems, to me, that the County Commission is walking on egg shells on the Jackson issue. They are acting kind of reserved, and Burgess has even mentioned lending the money through the end of the fiscal year. A penny for your thoughts, Genius?

No big thoughts...on Jackson. This is actually part of the healthcare debate. Jackson can't keep up, doling out healthcare to those without insurance and stay solvent. There are just too many and the costs too high. Do some of you make the connection that WE -- all of us -- are paying taxes to keep Jackson afloat? Money is coming out of our pocket now to support the healthcare of the uninsured RIGHT HERE IN MIAMI. Connect the dots...

Having the Commission put the Hospital on watch may be better than letting them run it hands on...don't you think?

Why make it crazier at Jackson?

GoD is correct about the money. The local taxpayers are carrying the burden of uninsured.
