A Scholarship to be avoided at all costs. By Geniusofdespair

Here is one scholarship to be avoided or prepare to be humiliated if you get it: The Natacha Seijas "Women in Public Service" Award. Awwk! I call this the all-in-the-family award because the applications must be sent to Terry Murphy, who also is the President-Elect of ASPA South Florida Chapter. Terry, coincidentally, is the Chief of Staff of Vile Natacha Seijas. Coincidence?

The application asks you to write an essay (see below). I think we all know who they want the applicants to write the essay about. A sure loser for candidates: Write about Katy Sorenson.

(Thank you alert reader for telling me about this and thanks should also go to the corporate sponsor of the scholarship...you guessed it: FPL!)

Complete fraud, from top to bottom. The "Society" has no clue what they are into, with Seijas.

Recognizing Katy will automatically disqualify you from further consideration.

i would love to read ALL the essays. If public money was used, could we?

Unfortunately, not April Fools.

What a joke! The local chapter of the public administration society has been hijacked by the vile one and her staff. The members of that group should be ashamed of themselves. Seijas exemplifies how NOT to be a public administrator.

She got tired of Terry's letters telling her how great she is?

This story is so ridiculous that I can't believe it is true. It belongs in news of the weird. What self-respecting accomplished woman would accept an award named for Natacha Seijas? Whoever receives this award will be the laughingstock of our community.

Dear Mr Murphy:

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. Since I am not able to select Commissioner Seijas as my role model, I am picking the person who i believe most closely matches her level of class and commitment, Miriam Alonso.

Like Ms Seijas, Madam Alonso above all made sure that her lobbyist friends were always well represented on the dais. Her ability to belittle and embarrass not only staff but the public is a testament to her upbringing. Like Ms Seijas, Miriam showed a complete disdain for the media, as well as the constitution. Free speech is not something she is very fond of, and the use of technology was encouraged with her staff.

Aside from their loyalty to lobbyists, , both Ms Seijas and Ms Alonso are great family women. They are so kind and committed tot heir kins, that they have scattered friend and relatives all over the County. Some would call this patronage, but being the pure hearted souls they are, I call it a desire to spend more time with their families.
I hope I am selected as the recipient of this prestigious award. Aside from my Culinary Certificate from the Jeffrey Dahmer institute, a scholarship bearing Ms Seijas' name would be a great, great honor.

Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity. As someone who has had the privilege to spend the better part of their career with Ms Seijas, I know your judgment is sound and that you will make a great choice in recipients. Please do not consider my hiring of Mr DeGrandy to present my application in any way a commentary on your abilities. I know you have worked well together in the past. One can never be too prepared!

I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.

The Vile One and her steadfast objections to Term Limits make her ripe for indictment.
